Who owns the car - actually has the title in their name? Your friend, or the girl? Has the owner of the vehicle pressed charges? Have you been arrested?

To avoid problems - go to the owner of the vehicle (which is the girl, even if her name isn't on the title), admit your wrongdoing, state that you accept full responsibility and will fix the problem with NO inconvenience to her, give her your car to drive while you get hers fixed, then go NOW and buy 4 new (good quality, not crap tires, and have them mounted and balanced on her wheels, then install the wheels back on her car. Only then get your car back.

Once you have done that, then there will be no case against you (or at least the case would likely be thrown out if you acted promptly to remedy your stupidity), since she will have the use of her car with 4 good tires and will not have been inconvenienced (since you gave her your car while you fixed hers). After you've done that - smack your head against the wall a few times for being such an idiot!

Uh-oh... you sent this post while I was typing my first reply.

You're in deep shit. Get a lawyer, FAST. Get a good one. I'd still pursue the idea of immediate restitution (ie buy her the new tires), so that when you go to court, you can plead drunken stupidity and that you've already taken all steps to make amends.

Wow, you're going to get your salad tossed by some big dude in jail becaused you sliced up some tires. You're luckey you didn't get charged for attempted murder. If she ould've have drove on those flat tires and got in an accident, you'd be responsible. Well, I just hope your new jail buddy thinks you have a pretty mouth, and treats you with respect. :ky: :bj:

Helpful hint: don't admit guilt on an internet forum.

Oops, too late. :scared:

I think the best peice of advice I can give is don't do stupid shit!!! The second piece of advice I can give is to prepare yourself for the consequences if you do. You made the choice to do it. You were not manipulated into it. The 3rd piece of advice is to watch your cornhole when you get busted for it.

I'd personally throw the legal book at anyone who did that to my car and I wouldn't feel even the slightest bit sorry for them.

The first thing you need to do is GROW UP!!! I'd maybe expect this from a 13 year old but not someone who's 30 for god's sake! :anger:

Boy could I have fun with this case if I showed up to that scene. This is awesome. Let's see. Slashed tires with a knife on private property. Not very good. Raz put it best. Although destruction of property is called criminal mischief, it is a heavier charge if done on purpose. You never said where this took place so I cant say what a possible charge could be for tresspassing. Pay your dues and go on with your life. Judges do not like deliberate offenses

About the only thing you can do now is have sex with your buddies ex. That should make up for everything you've done. I hope you didn't do this to an Rx-8.

The carrying a weapon charge is weak. The criminal mischief one though is likely to stick. I would suggest getting a lawyer, and working a plea deal with the Prosecutor with restitution and probabation involved. Unless your county has no other crime and this is your first offense, there are pretty good odds you wouldn't have to serve any time, as the prosector isn't going to want to waste a courts time on a petty crime (as opposed to murder, drug dealing, etc...) and probably doesn't want to put you in an overcrowded jail if it means they have to let some other truly violet criminal out to let you in. Hire a good lawyer and make sure you kick your friends ass before you plea bargain out!!!

Also, you said your friend just 'gave it to her'

Did he give it to her to borrow, or did he hand her the title. If your friend still owns it, im sure he can drop the charges against you sans the trespassing part.....

Be honest with the judge and don't make excuses. Judges hate excuses. The good news is that i don't think you are in felony land. The bad news is that, at least in Utah, that puts you under the supervision of the court. This means that that the judge would have full discression on whether or not to throw you in county for up to a year. (county bad) Then again, you could get service with fines and probation.

Good luck. Do get a lawyer.

Beat me too it. If you are a minor it would be unpleasent but you would not have a record come 18 (well, except if you were trying to get a law enforcement job) But you are 30!!!! wtf MY FRIEND?

Now, if the car is still titled in your friends name and he says he is fine with it, then that charge would be dropped. You still have a knife and tresspass charge. In my state, I could get you off of the knife charge, but tresspass is here to stay. If this is your first brush with the law you are getting a fine and probation....and restitution of course. How did they catch you? is there a witness?

Is this a felony in your state? If yes, then things get a tad messy for you. Get a lawyer with no less then 5 years of criminal experiance, and who practises mainly in the area of your offense....who you know is as important as what you know. Expext to pay between 1500 and 5,000 for this.

And for gods sake, learn a frikkin lesson here! I mean, at your age! And it was not even your x!

My questions are as follows:
1) Is she a piece of ass worth pursuing?
2) Do you disrespect your best friend so much as to mess with his x like that?
3) Do you use drugs?
4) Have you ever been on the receiving end of anal sex before and do you think you would be okay with it?
5) Are you prepared to deal with the taste of a man's penis on a daily basis?

Speaking of your "friend", who was so cowardly that he asked you to commit the offenses rather than risk his own ass, I hope you're plannin to make him pay the restitution and your lawyer's bill! Some friend...

My advise is be more sneaky, and get a better friend. It will probably be a fine + pay for damage + probation, at least thats what happened to a couple people I knew while in college.

And to think the damn tires dont even cost that much. I have never had a slash tire call. Maybe I will get one now. Why did they charge him with a weapon if it wasnt used as one? Doesnt make sense. Did someone see him with it and report it as one?

Here's a note of advice for you my not so mature friend. You don't want people to give you grief for doing something idiotic, don't do something idiotic.

And oh by the way, since you mentioned it, nowhere in any of your posts in this thread did you state that your friend wanted this to happen. I believe the proper term here is OWNED!

Now the question for everyone else out there is, why do I keep hearing the theme from COPS in my head? :hahano:
