View Full Version : Z owner here
hanwz33 07-29-2003, 03:07 AM Hello,
I'm new here. I just purchased a 350Z and I'm very happy with it. The thing is I'm actually more of a Mazda fan, so I plan to make this place my home forum. I would have purchased the new awosome RX-8, but my dad for some reason would not want a Mazda brand inside his garage even though I paid for the entire Z. Since I live at home, I respected his opinion and got something my dad actually liked too. Z.
I like the RX-8 a lot better. Beside I think the Z being more of a real sports car, I like how the 8 can seat 4, it looks better, it's betterly built, and best of all, the ROTARY engine.
Just saying Hi to everyone and I'm hoping to have a good time here. :D
ZoomZoom 07-29-2003, 04:12 AM Welcome to the forum!
I had a 1976 280Z and it was the best ride I've ever owned - until yesterday. :D :D :D I hope you enjoy your Z as much as I did mine, I kept mine 11 years.
Best of luck with the Z!
rxeightr 07-29-2003, 08:53 AM Welcome to the board.
Since you had to buy the Z, just make sure to get every ounce of fun you can out of it.
Of course you can move out and buy what you really want;)
delhi 07-29-2003, 11:07 AM just curious, why is your dead so against mazda? did he ever had a lemon mazda? or the rotary engine scares him?
btw, congrats on the Z. I am debating b/t the Z (performance) or the rx-8 .... hence I am lurking here.
Quick_lude 07-29-2003, 12:34 PM So you like the 8 better, you fully paid for the car by yourself but didn't get the 8 because your daddy didn't want one in the garage? Am I missing something here?
cueball 07-29-2003, 01:40 PM Move out and buy a RX8.
Problem solved.:)
Anyway welcome to the forum and enjoy the .:shudders:. 350Z.
J/K

my dad had a lemon ford tailstar, which is a mazda 626 and before that he had a in-the-shop daily rotary mazda. i guess mazda did scare him off. plus he really dislikes ford for some reason.

i guess :o i was all happy at first, but i regreted after the first 8 i saw. :p :p :p
Elara 07-30-2003, 11:15 AM Hey, the Z is still a really nice car- fast, fun, and great two-seater. You'll still have a lot of fun with it!
P00Man 07-30-2003, 11:44 AM if you want to get rid of it and replace it with the 8, this is what you do
take a baseball bat and smash the crap out o fit. then say it was an earthquake, when you get the insurance, use that as a down payment on the 8, once your dad sees it and drives in it a few times hell love it
BLAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
edit:
damnit...hit submit again, been doing that a lot lately.......
anyway, yeah, the Z's a pretty hot car, i used to hate the thing but its grown on me a lot for some reason...still think parts of it are very ugly though. my freind just got one and loves it, but i think hell feel terrible once he sees my soon-to-be acquired 8!

Red Devil 07-30-2003, 01:03 PM I think overall the Z is a good car, and support everything Elara said.
My only argument against it is that it is overweight by around 200lbs. I read that this is due to platform sharing, but that doesn't answer why the Nissan VQ in the 350 weighs more than the Corvette's LS1.
Welcome to the forum, though.:)
CERAMICSEAL 07-30-2003, 06:51 PM Consider yourself welcome here permanently. I hope you join the rotary club for real someday.
By the way, is your dad or you for that matter from another country?(the Ford Telstar doesn't exist in the US)
