Ok, i read the manual it says, 3.7QT with filter, and thats what i pore in, but every time i check the dip stick it shows that iam low on Oil. So what gives, dont wana drive until i get this answeard dont wana ruin my new 05 RX8, its a 6speed if that matters. Any help is good thanks.
i do mine on a lift......adn afer it drains all teh way (jo more drips)...i put her down and she takes just under 4 quarts (about 3.8 or so).....that's an oil change and filter change.
Do you jack up one side of the car EdvinRX8? You may be getting extra oil out of the oil cooler lines. The oil pan holds 3.8 quarts but the oil system holds more.
The 6 speed RX-8 has an extra oil cooler than the automatic does. More lines = more volume of oil it will hold.

So it is good to change the oil every 3,000 miles since a person can't get all the oil out.
I've heard funny stories about people draining the oil cooler lines to switch to synthetic and not attaching them fully. It makes a huge mess.
