A red RX-8 with no accessories and no moonroof is on display in Burlington, Ontario. It arrived Friday and likely will be picked up early next week.

A blue RX-8 is on display in Acton, Ontario. It arrived Friday and likely will be picked up early next week.

A red RX-8 with eight or nine accessories, moonroof is arriving early next week in in Burlington, Ontario.

Please let me know where I can view a titanium GT.

The saleswoman that sold me the car could not care less about the RX-8. Indeed none of the salespeople in Burlington that were in the dealership on Saturday seemed to be very interested in the car.

Thanks.

The blue RX-8 with NAV in Acton is likely not available anymore - I just bought it! ;)

Halfon - try Mazda of Brampton. I think they're supposed to be getting a red GT and a titanium GT(?) in today.

I went by my dealer on Sat (after golf) -- and to my surprise, they had a titanium GT w/ Spoiler -- the colour looked sweeeet! I couldnt help but drool. The car is being driven by a Mazda Can Exec (was visiting with the dealer) -- I WISH I COULD GET THE TITANIUM!! ...but because of no immediate supply, I'm getting a Black GT (hopefully this week??)...

Red is sold already. Last Thursday my dealership (Bank Street Mazda) renegged on a pre-agreed deal for a red GS. I'm now trying to find a red GT, no moonroof, and it is not looking good (and I've called a lot of dealerships).

Today I went to my dealer and changed my order from blue to titanium.

Delivery for me is still May 2004

Fritzman, I went to Burlington Mazda today to look at a red GT to see what it looked like (that's what I have on order). They have a red GT without moonroof that is plated. Someone at the dealership is going to keep it for a month and drive it. I don't know if you're interested in getting one that's been driven for a month but if you're interested, you may want to contact Burlington Mazda and find out the story on the car. I spoke with Bruce when I was there. Good luck with your search.

The Red RX-8 on display in Burl Mazda currently belongs to the owner of the dealership, who will be granting test drives / viewings for those that are interested.

As for the Red RX-8 arriving this week with the 8-9 accessories, with Moon Roof AND Nav....well that one's mine!

I decided I liked red better than my preordered Black...and said what the hell. I finalized ordering my accessories for it today:

-Exhaust Finishers
-Rear Spoiler
-Front Mud Flaps
-Rear Deflectors
-Side Deflectors
-Front Rotary Crest
-Rear Rotary Crest
-Front Air Damn

Let's just say it is a small fortune to get all of this, but for all my interest in this car...the one I want should have all of the above.

Anyone else ordered accessories and nearly fainted?

:)

Thanks for the update guys. I was already aware that the car was slated to be driven, I had asked on of the sales rep is they could use another of their RX-8s coming in as a test mule instead. No, I'm not holding my breath...

Thanks Quick_lude!

Yea, I wanted yellow but I just couldn't get my hands on one. Apparently my car was being built sometime in August which meant either an October or November delivery, I just could not wait that long.

When 73JPS told me about the blue one in Acton with NAV I just could not resist! It's nice driving now instead of waiting. :D

If anyone knows where a black, siver, or tit. GT Automatic is unsold,
can you respond with contacts for me up in Southampton please?
I lost out by hours on one at Owen Sound! It had Moonroof but no Nav. I'd take either, one only, or none.

Thanks ,
Gord Boyd

Thanks Ron!

I will give you the details regarding the 3M clear bra tonight but my contact goes to wherever the car is (i.e. dealership, home, office, etc.) with his van and applies the film.

halfon,

No discounts whatsoever. Apparently Mazda Canada has informed dealers that there is zero room for negotiation on these parts. I paid full tilt...and it hurt a little bit.

You most certainly can check out the car...plus I'll post pics when I take delivery (as I'm not taking delivery until all accessories are on)

I find it odd that Mazda Canada can advise their dealer network not to sell below MSRP. As an independent business, the dealers would have the right to discount however they saw fit. They may not be able to charge more than MSRP, but they can certainly charge less if they want.

There have been threads about a dealer in Nova Scotia that is offering a discount. I know of a dealer in Edmonton that is offering a group buy discount as well.

I am trying to organize a group buy with my dealer in Hamilton. I have spoken with him about it and he told me to put something together and present it to him. I've had a couple of people express interest but I realistically need more to have a bigger impact and generate a better case for maximum savings. What about any of you people who are expecting cars in the next little while? Any interest in trying to see if you can save some money on your accessories? Please send me a P/M to express your interest.

Hi Broose,

If there are possibly savings with a bulk purchase, then great...but from what I understand the margins on the accessories (ie. what the dealer sells them for, less the MazCan price) is very tight...and the only real money is made on the labor to put the accessories on the vehicle.

My dealer was certainly not in the position to start discounting labor given that it was only about $3-400 of the total price to begin with (for all the accessories I listed.

I'd be interested to see what savings you get...plz post if you can.

Here's the costs I was quoted as MRSP (not including labor or tax):

-Exhaust Finishers $385.69
-Rear Spoiler $550.99
-Front Mud Flaps $142.99
-Rear Deflectors $401.95
-Side Deflectors $449.95
-Front Rotary Crest $111.99
-Rear Rotary Crest $129.75
-Front Air Damn $713.25 (gulp)

If anyone is getting significantly cheaper...and I mean you've ordered them and seen an invoice like me, not just seen price lists...I'd like to know about it.

Thx!

Those prices are what's posted on the Mazda Canada website. What hourly rate did he charge for labour? $76 per hour?

Very nice, see it at http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7987
