It's starting to rain here, so I took the opportunity to take some pics while I still have a chance. The mesh screens were easy and fun to install...but I'm afraid the diamond openings are too small. I'll need to find some way to monitor oil temperaure without having to install a gauge. But yah, enjoy the pictures. And for those interested...the rims are holding up pretty nicely after the re-painting. Oh, added some clear corners too

Where did you get the screen material from? I'm looking for some good DIY screen that doesn't look so DIY. And how are they attached?

Thanks mikeb. I got the screen material from Home Depot. It's called Gutterguard or something. Each of the oil cooler screens are attached to the bumper via two screws (hehe, since I don't have foglights, I just used the screws from the foglight brackets. The AC condenser screen is held by two foglight bracket screws as well, along with some zip ties. They have some good DIY's floating around here.

The rims are dark bronze. They look pretty nice when the sky is cloudy. When direct sunlight hits it, it turns into a dirty bronze color, which is too bad either. It hides brake dust nicely though

 

That looks pretty restrictive on airflow....let us know if your car blows up! haha just kidding nice look.

not a bad job... but i'd go for black mesh myself
however, i think you have the mesh fitted the wrong way.
if it's the real mesh, you can choice which type of air flow you want. there is a way of making it 100% functional.

 

Lol, I had no idea there was a right and wrong way. I just plopped it on. Hehe, worse comes to worse, I'll just take it off. I've seen other meshes offered (on this forum and on some online sites) that have a circle pattern and whatnot. They look like they allow a lot more airflow...but this was all they had at my local Home Depot. I might do another set and paint them black...but I kinda like the contrasting look of the silver. Kinda looks like rectangular foglights from far away. I kinda wish they positioned the oil coolers somewhere else and made our foglights large enough to cover the gap (instead of making them small and circular).

Yah, I had to remove the bumper, but it was a super easy task. Just follow the flawless directions on the DIY for removing the bumper and you'll be fine.

 

Hehe, looking back at my 2nd picture...kinda looks like a happy face on top (the headlights and the grill) and an angry face on the bottom (oil cooler mesh and AC condenser mesh)

 

sorry but I hate that grill thing, other than that the car looks clean, can't believe you waited so long to get clear corners lol. Maybe it's the picture but seems like you trapped some leaves in the grill or something

Good work on the grille. Could have gone with black screens, but I like it.

 

I used Gutterguard from home depot too. The problem I ended up having is that when something like a big bug hit the screen, it would dent and couldn't be removed wihtout pulling off the front bumper to fix it.

That being said, I installed some foglights instead. It filled at least part of the void that was my lower bumper.

 

Nice job ... you'd be SO surprised what gets caught in the screen. I found bees, 1cm rocks, etc. I think the guy who initially thought of the DIY had a huge rock hit his AC condenser and totalled it.
