Whats up everybody, just jioned and decided to take a break from the RX7 forum, So are there any oregon owners around here? Specifically from Eugene or Albany? I went and checked out the local dealership the other day we got 3 in Eugene, OR.

Not an owner yet, but I am working on it. I live in Eugene too and have been looking for a while. The Salem dealer had 4 in stock 2 MT, 2 AT.

What kind of experiences are you having trying to get the car. The Salem guys were pretty low key and I got to take it our for about a 30 minute test drive. Clearly, this baby hauls! Lot's of fun and tickets are waiting for me in the near future.

Picked up my Winning Blue MT last week.
Love the car.

Got a great deal, I think. Sticker was 33,100, I paid 32K.
(Pretty loaded GT package, Nav system, no spoiler kit).
I really didn't need the Nav system, but it was the only Blue one on the lot. My second choice was the Grey, but didn't like the brown/black leather seat.

(BTW:I live in Forest Grove)

I hope to be an owner in a week or so. I know everything I want in my RX-8 as far as configuration and options go - except the color!!! (Black? Blue? Titainum? Silver?) Arrrrgh this is killing me. I have only seen one RX-8 on the streets in Portland. It was Black and parked on Grand behind Tony Roma's near the Lloyd Mall.

Question: Do y'all have plates on the front as well? What does Oregon law state about that? I looked for information on the Oregon DMV site, but could find nothing.

I am the happy owner of a shiny new Brilliant Black MT RX-8!!! I drove it home just hours ago and haven't stopped smiling yet! I was a little paranoid driving up the "narrow corridor" known as Hawthorne, but all is well. I have read thropugh the owner's manual and am seriously thinking of going for a night drive.... Yippeeee!

You make it sound like its dangerous to drive at night in an RX-8...

After about 6 months of looking for a sports car and test driving many, s2000, 350z, bmw-z4 etc....I saw the zoom zoom comercial on tv with the 8 in it. I did not know that this car existed until that night I saw it on tv. I test drove it the next day and was impressed to say the least. I bought my velocity red 8 the next day. That was two weeks ago and I have logged 987 miles already. Driving this car as you know is addictive. I will find any excuse to take it out for a drive. Anyways, very happy with this car and live in Oregon near Portland. Haven't seen anyone else with this car in the area, but I will keep my eyes peeled for you.

Icemastr, driving the RX-8 is no more or less dangerous at night than any other automoblie. The street I was referring to is a street with ALOT of pedistrian and vehicular traffic and thus the extra caution - AND the fact that I still have that "oh no, don't touch my new car" mentality that I'm seeking couseling for.

30 min test drive !!!!

Today was my first drive in darn-near torrential rain. The car handled liked a dream - 84 W was pretty much stop -n- go but when speed picked up, I had no problems. The brakes in this car are super!

I live in Vancouver, WA, but I own a Mazda6. Today I saw a titium grey RX-8 on the airport way, I saw that drive looking at my car while we passes by. So, I was wonder if he's a member of this forum. I believe I'm the only mazda6 has real HID light on it in portland/vancouver area. So if any of you see me with my Mazda6 just flash me =)
