rollerbldes 10-27-2005, 04:33 PM 1) Kick yourself
2) Bang head against table for min 30 seconds
3) Go around and try to find keys again
4) Check to see if you have a valet key
5) Check car to make sure you did not lock it in your trunk or car or hood
6) Drink beer because you may be thirsty after all that
7) Backtrack your steps
8) Find a neighbor to look for it (New pair of eyes)
9) Drink another beer
10) Call dealer and cry
Raptor2k 10-27-2005, 04:36 PM Idiot. You're making us 17 year olds look bad.
grvmchne 10-27-2005, 04:38 PM Call the dealer, but first stick your head between your legs and kiss your a$$ goodbye. Then by all means drink a beer to wash out the funky taste. Then realize that we have all done something like that before and paid for it dearly! Good luck to you!! They will likely turn up once you have paid for a new set of keys! Works that way everytime I do something like that!

Im_DANomite 10-27-2005, 05:02 PM well...if you lost it get another set of keys. i think they can make a new set by your VIN number. unless it's a totally new system now with all this technology.
if you got it stolen...it's gonna cost you a shitload. should get all the locks replaced, including the ignition.
omg im so pissed of.. dude my cousin had them in his pocket the whole fucking time...
whatever i'm just glad i have them
Im_DANomite 10-27-2005, 06:10 PM LOL...now delete this thread...waste of space.

Blaaz 10-27-2005, 06:21 PM Probably still a good idea to get a second key.
StealthTL 10-27-2005, 08:04 PM You will need the dealer to get a second key, you can't just buy one.
The dealer who sold it to you has the responsibility to provide your second key - without it you are faarked. Coding a new key will be expensive for you, if he won't do it.
If you have 2 keys you can code a third, or a valet key, whatever, but with only one, you are.....(see above).
The coding procedure is in the DIY section, but needs 2 keys minimum.

Titanium6 10-27-2005, 08:20 PM Glad to hear that you found them. It took me three weeks, I stepped on them in the mud in front of my house and locked the doors. Thankful for the great battery.
xpixieshadowx 10-27-2005, 09:12 PM Good thing u found them, ive lost mine a few times in my house...just set off my alarm (its an aftermarket one that pages ur key ring) and it led me right to my keys :)
I know one of the websites that sells Rx8 aftermarket stuff sells the unmade keys for cheaper than the dealer...but I dont remember which one it is...sry. Try to convice the dealer u bought it from to be nice and make u another one for free :)
NgoRX8 10-27-2005, 10:00 PM Man, that was like a heart attack moment.
Lesson: never give your keys into the hands of another unless you watch like a maniac.
Oh man, now I would be so screwed if I lost my keys. My spare is at home 100 miles away...
Krankor 10-28-2005, 01:20 AM When I was in high school, I used to occasionally go out to lunch with a friend of mine. One day, we were eating somewhere out on the highway, and when we returned to his truck, found the keys locked in the car. I started to quietly freak out, because we had to be back in time for class. My buddy calmly pulls out his spare key and opens the door. Since that day, I *always* have a spare car key with me.
