so is this the way it is going? are we only gonna get a 1GEN car and then mazda moves to the 9?

I always ponder... I love my 8... yes I do... but why is it I feel like someone chopped its ********* off?
where is the turbo? and why in the heck isn't the 20B in production in america? I feel a renesis with three rotors would be fantastic and much faster and reliable than mitsu's or nissan's V6 offerings

Why no 3-rotor? Cause it will eat more gas than a Viper not to mention probably won't pass emisssions.

 

Ive seen that picture a few times. Its just a photoshop. Its also very old aswell.

These pictures are from a design contest that was held quite a a while ago. This was already posted on the forum, along with a convertible RX-8 design study and others as well.

 

Anyone have a hungarian-english translator?

 

Here is one - but the result is quite miserable.
Here is a quick translation for the text under that pic:

"I wanted to create a bit more sporty Mazda than the RX-8 - one that carries the lines and proportions of the RX-7. I used the Mazda 3 prototype as well, because that was quite sporty in a few details. This will certainly also have a tuned version so that it fits into the series."

right its design students work. nothing to do with mazda. oh and folks at Mazda are already workign on the 2nd gen RX-8

Next gen 8? You've got a bit of a wait. A "minor change" 8? Said to be 2007 model year in JDM mags. The next gen 8 isn't until about 2010.

 

Old, but I still really like it.

My guess is that the second gen. RX-8 would be for the 2010 model year since the average life-span of a model is 6 years. Although the 2006 hump (if it is a 6 year span) didn't really get a freshening IMO. I would guess the RX-8 gets a mild interior and exterior face lift, new wheels, and maybe a few hp or mpg before we see a new generation

 

i think it is better for the New RX 7 reborn design, because it has 2 doors why don't we start to photoshop it with all our RX 8 kits, maybe we can get something about its new look
