Question Rear Skirt

Am I the only one who was surprised to see this picture?

I'd always assumed it would have been a mesh grille or even just left open across its width.

Looks nice.

And that triangle shape is where the read fog light is fitted.

Could have fitted a proper rear diffuser though, instead of that fake one. Just cut out the plastick behind the 'mesh' and it'd do...

I assume that having a proper rear diffuser would also help with cooling of the exhaust system.

There's been a lot of talk about how hot the boot gets - this explains it. I wonder if Mazda will address this issue?

They will probably bring out a mesh rear grille for £299.95 as an accessory

...or you could cut out the plastic yourself and stick a bit of chicken wire in there!!

Correct if I'm wrong. but doesn't a diffuser have to be in the airflow? With that big muffler there I doubt much air would make it.

I guess they would need to drop the bottom edge of the bumber cover down.

I noticed it on my car too. It does seem a little low budget. They should've either gone with a real mesh or a better fake like the front grill.
