So I go to the mailbox this evening and what do I find but a glossy fold-out brochure extolling the virtues of the new 2004 RX-8. Stifling a chuckle at the irony of it all, I open it up to seeMail back the enclosed Fast Track Reply Card and you will be among the first to know when the Mazda RX-8's arrive near you. That's priceless information.

It will get you on the list to receive an exclusive test-drive invitation the minute the RX-8 is available at a dealership near you.Oh, puh-lease! The damned cars are already available at all the dealerships near me, but I'm still waiting for the one I ordered, which has been sitting less than 200 miles away for the last month!

I feel for ya eccles - have you called MNAO at the 800 number? What do they say is the estimated delivery date?

Never mind - saw your other post. Sounds like you'll be getting an attitude adjuster real soon!

Whether you pre-ordered or not, those are mailers back from when you signed up on the MazdaUSA site many moons ago. It's ironic for some of us, but it makes sense to regenerate interest from those who have may forgotten or are wavering.

Not one but two arrived - both actually addressed to my wife, but one with the wrong surname. She has never registered any interest directly, so I can only assume that Mazda is sending these to existing (Miata) customers.

been waiting for the phone call from the dealer (any day the truck will be here). yesterday i get a call from a guy at the dealer, says it's about my new car. i assume he's the lucky guy who spotted the truck (think they're having a competition to see who sees it first). i get all fired up.

turns out it's the quality survey guy who's calling me because i filled out all the paperwork last week in anticipation of it arriving last weekend!

still waiting.

Just when I had completely given up hope, my dealer called and I picked it up today. HANG IN THERE ECCLES. You will forget everything once you take YOUR REX for a spin.
