Thanks for taking the time to post the great pics. bugbear 07-24-2003, 12:45 AM Great information - thanks I'm actually thinking about the towbar. And I wanted a detachable one. Yes it's for real. I need to lug a lot of windsurfing equipment around and it aint going in the car - so a trailer may be the answer. Detachable is very good - I dont want an ugly towbar around the whole time. MarkW 07-24-2003, 01:58 AM Thanks for making the effort to post these :) I cant see a difference from the Sport Exhaust (1) to the normal one, wonder what it is. ...and why no starter button as Im sure that is one thing people would pay for :( Also, it has been said many times, but the prices of this stuff is ridiculous, you could spend £1000 and only have a few bits of plastic and metal to show for it. Also, whilst it might look nice, adding these sort of accessories adds zero value to the car when you come to sell it, as I have found out to my cost in the past. KEF 07-24-2003, 02:23 AM i'm sure there must be someone sitting at Mazda HQ laughing his arse off, cause thay must be hangovers from some kind of april fools joke. £70 for two aluminium rings?? £65 for a key without integral alarm remote?? oi mazda stop taking the pi## (only the PDC and Bonnet structs are of any interest to me and we still don't have pricing for them) jimbobjoe 07-24-2003, 02:35 AM I agree. Some of the stuff looks nice, but the prices are just plain insulting. Those aluminium bezels can't cost them more than 50p to make. So 70 quid is a bit of a markup. Same for most of this stuff. RobDickinson 07-24-2003, 03:00 AM 7 Air outlet fins, polished aluminium - also available in brushed aluminium finish (£174.95) :o  I bet thats just for the part, with fitting extra too! I think you could make this a £30k car.... morganrogers 07-24-2003, 03:19 AM (sorry - repost , put in wrong thread ! ) Well - just because I like the sound of my own keyboard.... Agree - Price of accessories will stop me buying all but the essential outlet fins (which I am now settled on brushed finished for those who care). I would have had quite a few bits had the prices been half what they are - but no more. So Mazda - you have actually made less money by having those prices in the stratosphere - well , from this customer at least ! Actually , I think the accessory prices have annoyed me more than any of the other stuff to date.... Weird.... Morgan. I need to lug a lot of windsurfing equipment around and it aint going in the car - so a trailer may be the answer. Detachable is very good - I dont want an ugly towbar around the whole time. It has to be one of the most phallic looking towbars I've ever seen! Thanks for posting the pics Chris - how come you've got a brochure already (did you pick it up at one of the events?) Once again all I can say about the prices is shocking. I notice from that that anyone getting the red / black interior will be effectively getting at least £600 of accessories for free - probably more when we see the prices for those console lids and handbrake trim. MarkW 07-24-2003, 06:09 AM Your right about the towbar Andy! You only get the steering wheel (£250) with the red/black interior though, if we want the gearknob, hadbrake and console lids we would have to pay for them as well :( RobDickinson 07-24-2003, 06:41 AM Gah, with US delivery charge from http://www.trussvillemazda.com/ the 'strakes' are £105. Wonder if they ship internationaly.... morganrogers 07-24-2003, 07:00 AM Bet they will for an order of 10 or so. I'm in - anyone else ? morganrogers 07-24-2003, 07:04 AM $54 for the polished front accent ! That £35 MazdaUK want £80 for it ! Gentlemen - are we being scr***d ? RobDickinson 07-24-2003, 07:07 AM I've mailed them about Uk shipping , as a single customer. I'm sure they'll bulk ship - but we'll likely get hit by 17.5% VAT and 3.5% import duty so add 22% on top + whatever charge for collecting that money by courier (Royal mail = £1.20, some couriers £10). Works out about £130 or so + extra for shipping. mhopley 07-24-2003, 07:18 AM My sister and family live in the states, I couldget them to bring a suitcase full over :) Only problem is that they are not due over until the beginning of December :( I'm sure if we bought one set we could get them copied by a fabricator for less than £100 a set. AnilS 07-24-2003, 10:52 AM If the Red/Black leather steering wheel is £250, does this mean if you order the Red/Black interior with a black steering wheel, Mazda will give you £250 refund ? AnilS. c170673 07-24-2003, 12:04 PM In answer to AndyPearce, I picked up the brochure at the preview event in Bristol on the 7th July. The prices shown on some of the items are the ones that they had in a display case at that event. Chris Gamera 07-24-2003, 01:05 PM c170673, thanks for all the pics. Hmmm... tyre deflectors, we don't get these in the States, could be an interesting look. Anyone have a full profile shot with these in place? Evil Weevil 07-25-2003, 07:23 AM Excellent pics - well done! I hope I'm not about to make an ass out of myself but... what's the difference 'tween the tyre-deflectors and the mud-flaps? bugbear 07-25-2003, 07:42 AM i wondered myself for a while i believe the tyre deflectors go in front of the wheel and the mud flaps behind i assume you cant have the rear under deflector with the rear mud flaps Lensman 07-25-2003, 12:32 PM Hmmm... expense. The bonnet gas struts are desirable as are the standard mats other than that forget it (maybe the passenger foot rest but based on the price of other aluminium objects that should be around £2500). DannyA 07-25-2003, 04:04 PM At the risk of sounding repetitive - thank you very much for all those photos. I am very interested in the brushed strakes - but never at those prices. The basic mats look nice also. AnilS 07-26-2003, 04:39 AM The alu strakes are a must on the Titanium car. I show some pics to a mate of mine who works in a metal fabricating shop. He claims if he could get hold of some, he thinks they won't be difficult to replicate. I just need a quick trip to japan me thinks. Same goes for the vent rings. He just needs the size, because he already makes something similar now. Keep you posted if we get lucky AnilS. Can he have a go at that too??? ;) MarkW 08-05-2003, 06:37 AM Anyone noticed that in the accessories brochure the car appears to have Mazdaspeed Mirrors, but that these mirrors are not available as an accessory in said brochure. I like the look of them but they are bound to be expensive. Does anyone know if we will be getting the courtesy illumination light in our mirrors, as if so I wouldnt change them anyway? Cheers Mark Titanium Grey 08-05-2003, 08:30 AM I quizzed the Mazda Rep. about this on Saturday in Manchester, she thought I was on about the interior courtesy light until I showed her the ones under the mirrors. One of the other reps came up at that point and said she had been asked the same question earlier, and after calling back to get more info. was fairly sure we were getting them in the UK, but that that wasn't a yes we are. They will try to get a more concrete answer in a few weeks time. MarkW 08-05-2003, 12:41 PM TG, I presume you are talking about the lights, not the Mazdaspeed mirrors? They were about the same price as the strakes on the Japanese Mazda site, so hopfully someone will imort them so we can get hold of some. rael 08-06-2003, 08:44 AM Are those the 'puddle' lights which move as one opens the door and will not lighten any puddles under ones feet? Or are they so bright the whole area is lit? rael JaChTsai 01-20-2004, 01:17 AM No. 34, the reversing aid. Are you able to put that in the front? I have a trouble gauging the distance from the front bumper to objects ahead. |
