Sorry if asked before (I searched - no answer found).

I thought there was a way to alter the color of the luminescent gauges in the RX-8 from white (default) to red, or even blue.

A little help?

Thanks.

You can do it with the headlights or the markers are on. Just rotate the dimmer switch down until you hear a click. The gauges will turn red.

Just went out and turned the gauges to red. Nice :D

I feel like an idiot for not being able to instantly have figured that out.

Thanks peeps.

by default the gauges are WHITE, till you turn the lights on (runing lights and/or headlights) then they turn to red, and turn on the rest of the red lights in the car. Red is the optimal color for night driving, since it doesnt affect your night vision, and reduces eye strain. White is on durring the day since its bright and easy to read.

If you turn the dimmer knob (left of the steering wheel) you can adjust the brightness of the gauges and if you turn it all the way up, it will click and the gauges will stay white, even with the headlights on.

I think the reason for this is so that if your driving durring the day, say with the running lights on, it might be light out and hard to see the red, so you can flip it to white.

Yep - it's really nice in the rain to be able to click it up to white so you can see :)
