If you get an '8', make sure you get the rest of the set............
you may need it!

Back seat is a little cramped, but the trunk gets a 'two-body' rating!

(maybe not free, but very reasonably priced!)

Picked up my Red/Red GT from Leduc Autoworld at 3pm today -
Only had time for some quick impressions, had to go in to work on nightshift!

The Aircon- yes, very strange, it gets chilly, then cycles off as you would expect, but I think it gives a shot of heated air between cycles! If you turn off the a/c, and just take outside air, it isn't as warm as those little bursts between the cycles......

The exhaust note- not much is heard under 4500 revs, I found if I could hear the engine, I was already going pretty fast!

Shifter- stubbier than just about anything I have ever driven, and not quite as nice as a miata box. A definate shove is required to get over to 5 & 6, and reverse does not come easy...

Speedo - LOVE that speedo! The gauges are beautiful, the big tach is marvelous. The speedo doesn't 'update' like some I have seen, it just reads out the MPH (in my case kph!) flawlessly - no flickering. Did I mention I LOVE that little speedo?

Cruise- again the best I have experienced - a strong surge up to setpoint, then excellent control, no drift at all.

Inside- beautiful red leather, with stricking, grippy, rubberized bolsters. I was a bit surprised when I tried the trunk pass-thru, as it came off in my hand - I had expected it to fold down or something, but it would be in the way....

Trunk - lots of room, ( that's not me in there, it's my son! :0 )
I don't know if they are standard, but there was a beautiful set of black floor mats in the trunk, embroidered with the RX-8 logo.

Lastly - Gas cap. Needs a clip or bracket on the lid, to hold the cap - it just dangles on the paint, or you can hang it over the door - neither way is appropriate in a nice car, ( put a plastic clip there Mazda!)

Just some nitpicks, still trying to keep below 5k, and no interesting roads on the way to work! Overall, couldn't be happier!

Nice shots! For some reason, that one with the smiling face looking out of the trunk had me laughing.

I'll be getting some post-deliver pictures my self in a few hours.

Sweet car! That is *exactly* the spec'd car I'm waiting for right now. I'm hoping by next week at the latest.

I'm getting so jealous reading all of these posts of people getting their RX-8. I know it's not that expensive of a car, but it's out of my range...

And they said being in the computer industry pays well... YEAH RIGHT!!! I might as well become a friggin' manager of McDonalds! I'd probably get better pay!!!!

(Sorry, had to vent)

But anyways... CONGRATULATIONS!

Hey RotaryJay, maybe you should move to Quebec and become a beer truck driver!

The other day on the news they were showing the drivers on strike (in Montreal) asking for better working and salary condition.
Poor guys, right now they earn 65000$ + benefits:eek:  driving and delivring beer!!!

Boy, what a stressfull job...

Thanks for the tip!

I've noticed that office jobs (unless you are part of the elite) are pretty low paying. I'm a sys admin in an engineering company. Unfortunately, I don't have a degree, and if you don't have a degree, you might as well be a piece of office stationary.

I took an office job because I was under the false impression that you get paid more when working in an office.

We all learn from our mistakes!

I don't know about the stressful part , meaning all that beer just behind you, might have to take a long break :D ;)

The red looks great, doc! I'm curious to see the colour in person, and I loved the black/red interior in the silver show car that made the rounds in March. My wife prefers the black/tan though, and we both liked the Titanium colour, so that's how our preference came about.

I like the plate, too! I've finally broken down and ordered a personalised plate. Two, in fact - the Miata will wear 'ZOOM 42' and the RX-8 will wear 'ZOOM 44' ;)

Regards,
Gordon
