Polished Aluminum Factory Wheels!!!:D :D :D jd62 07-23-2003, 01:44 PM Great looking car, I love those wheels. Enjoy! RX-Nut 07-23-2003, 01:46 PM Sweeeet.. so did you keep your stock wheels or did your dealer take em? What was the added cost for those wheels? Good luck keepin them clean.. heheh :D ZoomZoomH 07-23-2003, 02:20 PM mad blingage on the wheels :D brothervoodoo 07-23-2003, 02:50 PM Very nice, appearance package looks excellent on the silver, grey and other lighter cars. The first 8 I ever saw in person was the black and I did not notice it had the appearance package until after further inspection. The wing looks fine on the grey. Nice ride, boowana, enjoy the wheels, those should set your car apart from other 8's for awhile. neit_jnf 07-23-2003, 04:03 PM I thought the app package included a front-wheel splash-guard-like part... I think it looks great but that it needs that piece behind the front wheel Toadman 07-23-2003, 04:03 PM Let's see some hi-rez close-ups of the wheels, skirts and wing, Boo! :D boowana 07-23-2003, 04:38 PM One boowana 07-23-2003, 04:39 PM Two boowana 07-23-2003, 04:40 PM Three RX-Nut 07-23-2003, 04:41 PM Heeeeeeeeeeey I see strakes! Spill it!! How did you install them, get them, etc etc. boowana 07-23-2003, 04:42 PM Four brothervoodoo 07-23-2003, 05:04 PM Originally posted by RX-Nut Heeeeeeeeeeey I see strakes! Spill it!! How did you install them, get them, etc etc. Hey Nut, You can order the strakes at trussvillemazda.com and a couple other places, a search should help find that post. I have my strakes in-hand but no car. Anyway, the installation is straightforward and you will need a screwdriver. You unscrew a protective piece within the wheel well to create a passthru behind the air vent. Pop out the air vent and attach the strakes and put back together. Probably a 30 min job. I'm just reading from the instructions but bowanna could offer some detail. In short, it seems easy enough. brothervoodoo 07-23-2003, 05:11 PM Originally posted by neit_jnf I thought the app package included a front-wheel splash-guard-like part... I think it looks great but that it needs that piece behind the front wheel There is a difference between the mud flaps and the appearance package. What you see here is the appearance package which includes the front air-dam, rear flares and short side flares. The mud flaps would include the guards behind BOTH the front and rear wheels (that is why the choice in incompatible with the appearance package). But afterward you could order only the front mud flaps directly from Mazda and then install them yourself. khoney 07-23-2003, 06:40 PM Gorgeous, boo! I love those polished wheels! Toadman 07-23-2003, 07:48 PM Ok, I have to say it... "SHIBBY!" :D Nice strakes mah man. :) RX-Nut 07-23-2003, 07:53 PM dude.. looks like Trussville took your pics of the shibby polished.. hahhaha Are they your dealer? Doug DeBug 07-23-2003, 08:43 PM Nice wheels B! I'm in taking mine to Austin tomorrow and should be back in Dallas for the weekend. Enjoy your sweet looking ride!!!!! DeBug boowana 07-23-2003, 10:31 PM Installing the fender strakes is no big deal. Just follow the included instructions BUT... when lining up the lower strakes and matching them to the template you will cut out, they do not line up with the "hole" in the vent as in the instructions. Do the upper strake first and tighten it down so that it still can be moved to line up with the template and then, hold the vent up against the fender with the upper strake in place and then place the lower strake on the vent while it is against the fender and mark or hold it in place. Carefully take it away from the fender and turn it over to see what hole lines up with the PROPER alignment with the template. The carefully screw in the lower strake screw (careful not to cross thread it as it isn't aligned perfectly) and try it against the fender again. If it looks like it is now aligned properly with the template, screw it down almost completely. Try both the upper and lower strakes again to insure they are both still lined up. If they are Tighten them down completely, put them against the fender for a final time (to make sure they didn't move while tightening tem), remove the tape on both and CAREFULLY press them into place against the template. You should be done. Remove the template and go do the other side and do the same there. When removing the four Phillips head fasteners on the fender liner, if the bottom one does not want to come out, you can still complete the installation by just removing the top three. Have fun. boowana;) Prowla 07-24-2003, 12:12 AM Hey Boowana, do you have a view of the whole car where the strakes are visible? I'm interested to see how it looks overall with them. Did Trussville Mazda use your picture of the strakes on their website? It looks strikingly similiar. :) Cool car XK4 07-24-2003, 05:54 AM boowana, Very nice ride. You were smart getting the Mazda accessories early. I went to my dealer (and your's too, I believe) last Monday to order some goodies and was told they're not even taking orders until September. Boo Hoo! I guess I'll just have to settle for a plain ole RX-8 with the GT package. Dave pmacwill 07-24-2003, 09:56 AM Originally posted by boowana Installing the fender strakes is no big deal.
