I was doing a three-point turn and backed-up a little two far, my two rear-wheels fell with a bang because the edge of the road dropped off and we had to call AAA to come pull my car out.

Killed the engine while driving in a parade, and couldn't restart (pre-M-flash). Had to get pushed off the parade route and of course it refired the moment it was off the street.

I took off from work at lunchtime last year to vote. I had to park in the Florida sand outside the church. I voted and then came out and couldn't back the car onto the pavement. It was only a few feet, but the wheels spun like I was in the snow. I walked home and called Mazda to get a tow. When I walked back, the guy next to me was stuck too. I helped him get out and then he helped me get out. I cancelled the tow, but the whole thing was embarrassing.

Roxy's most embarrassing moment was definitely taking a pickup truck up the a$$ in front of thousands of freeway commuters during rush hour. :(

I did this last week out of PURE stupidity..... i stalled my car in the middle of bumper to bumper traffic. Duh ME! Still getting use to the lighter clutch compared to the S2000... I felt soo stupid afterwards...

aw that sucks! my friends thought it would be funny to spray my 8 with that foam stuff...I was pissed and it took me forever to get it off.

that's hardcore. lol, your info says your '8' is your life at the moment, so I can understand. :D For me its easy, I just watch out for paint spills.

Oh, and learning to drive MT on this car is quite embarassing also.

Ok here are my two I came up to a light when I first got the car, a civic was next to me. We both went to shoot off the light but I stalled mine. A week later my wife had on a low cut shirt ( she is a bit top heavy) I took off backing up out of the mall and jerked the car, she did not know she had UUMM fallen out of her shirt till everyone at the mall was looking

I was on the way to my friend's house, and as I was going through his neighborhood, I saw someone walking thier dog from far away, and it looked like it was him, so I slowed down to talk. (It was night time) As I did it I realized it wasn't him and actually was a really cute girl, so as I go to speed back up I forget what I'm doing, let out the clutch, and then stall my car right infront of her. Embarassing for me as well as the 8.

Pitch Black at the Cabin in NC during the Brotherhood of the Dragon meet. Backed off the pavement and BAMM, nice little drop. Tried to get it out but the wheels just slipped in the grass below. Had to ask 7 other RX8 drivers to push down on the car and an Expedition driver to pull the car to get out......needless to say that one will be the most embarassing for me for a long time.

Just down the street from my workplace is an owner of a nice Boxster. We've passed each other going opposite directions numerous times, but this time he was in his parking lot talking to others.

He hears me coming, so once he looks I punch it, and when right in front of him I grind going into 2nd gear real bad.

I've avoided him since.

Yesterday morning, on my way to an atuo-x at 6:30ish am... just before dawn.

Going down a slight decline on the highway when the road turned red... with little chunks.

No sooner did I say to my passenger 'oh damn, someone nailed a d....' then we start going up the incline that my lights hit the carcass.... 'EEERRRR!'

High centered the deers carcass.. straight under the center of the car.

Hmmm.. car still works. *sniff* 'You smell something?

Pull car over.. look underneath. The deer decided to attach itself to the underside of the car. Not only the outside of deer parts... but inside.

Found a car wash on the way to the autox, and got as much of the hanging flesh off the car... and drove the next 100 miles burning off what was already burnt/fused onto the exhaust.

Broke the spoiler under the front bumper... splash shield is wrecked... and bent a small connector up so the exhaust was rattling against it. Other than that... unscathed. Parts are going to be close to $500 to fix... which is my deductible. So not even going to report it to insurance as it is minor anyways.

That's not the worst of it...








My friend that co-drove the car... beat me at the event by .3 (I was dirty from hitting a cone on my fastest run) DOH! Talk about embarrasing!

I got one. I had my subwoofers installed that day, and I was blasting the radio, windows down, bass gain all the way up, rear-view mirror shaking so bad that I couldn't use it to look back, etc. So, I was in bumper to bumper traffic, on a hill, and what do I do? I stalled!!! Everyone was looking at me, it was so obvious I stalled. (My 8 was a few days old and I was still 'learning' how to shift.) It's kind of funny come to think of it:

*boom*, *boom*, *boom-boom*, *boom*, *boom*, *boom-boom*, *boom*, ..., silence..., <engine starting sound>, ...silence..., *boom*, *boom-boom*, *boom*, *boom*, ... :D

When we were going to go back to class I forgot what I was doing and pushed the main long door closed first. Made that sickening *CRUNCH* sound. I couldn't help myself and yelled: "Oh F&$^"!!

The doors are fine, but didn't get the girl....

I did that a few times. Upshifting 1-2 is tough as you approach redline; I used to have this problem at the beginning when I first had my Rx8, and it would happen more often than what I wanted. A few ways to prevent this from happening again:

Option 1: Depress the clutch ALL THE WAY IN until you hit something (on 1-2 upshift @ near redline).

Option 2: Get the AFE/RP Short Shifter (PM: Richar Paul ~$250USD?)

Option 3: Get SS clutch hoses (they're cheap @ rotary performance ~$38USD).

Installing the AFE/RP Short Shifter dramatically transformed my 8; I rarely, rarely grind gears with this one. Once I install my SS clutch hoses, I doubt I'll ever grind a gear on my 8 again. :)

I love the shifter on the 6-spd. It's one of the smoothest, shortest-shifting I've driven. I stalled out a lot when I was learning, as well, so you greensticks don't feel bad. At least you weren't in a '91 Ford Escort...it was good to learn on years ago, and I believe it's still running w/220k mi. But what's really embarrassing is when you stall out after years of smooth-shifting experience.

I would actually have to say the shifting in the S2000 was a lot shorter than the 8. I sometimes have found myself releasing the clutch too quick and grinding gears. I'm still getting use to this car... only have had it a lil over a month.

If you thought the stock rx8 shifter was short, then you don't know what you're missing with the AFE/RP Short Shifter. When someone tries to drive my car they sit in and try to walk through the gates first. The first thing that comes out of their mouth is damn where the f*** is 5th or 6th? 3-5 and 4-6 are unbelievably close to one another -- it's really friggin hard to tell these apart. The only way to tell really is by pushing against the corners. I don't know that the shifter is like on the s2000, but it can't be shorter than this unless it's an aftermarket unit.
