So, this morning I received some spam. That's not unusual, but what was weird was that it was addressed to Fritz the Cat, not my real name. This site's the only place I use that name, so the way I see it, either my PC or this site have been compromised.

I did full scans on my PC for spyware and antivirus, and came up clean.

Has anyone else starting receiving spam using the user ID they use on this site?

Do you have your email address visible? Or have you posted it anywhere? There is no reason you should be getting any spam mail resulting from this site unless some bot managed to spot it in a message or something.

My profile is set to allow only administrators to send me email. I haven't sent any messages with my email address.

Like I said, it's possible my PC was compromised as well. I thought that if nobody but me was getting spam using their site IDs, then it's my PC. But if others are, that's another story.

I don't know what's going on then, I'm sorry :( Maybe someone else will pipe up if it's happening to them too and you'll get a definite confirmation.
