To all,

Check out the horrendously slanderous attacks being made against the RX-8 on MSN's consumer car review board.

Unreliable – Unsafe – Poor handling – Etc, etc, etc.

I'll be posting a heart felt defense today & I ask that other RX-8 forum members join me in doing the same.

My '87 RX-7 has given me 16 years & 265,000 miles of absolute bliss & I have no intention of letting some idiots spam away unchallenged; help me out please.

Not worth it. I'm just amazed at how bored some people can be.

Goes to show you though that most of the consumer reviews on Carpoint are basically worthless due to this kind of spam.

I hear you but the RX-8 is receiving a uniquely harsh level of abuse.

I’m not motivated to defend the 8 out of pride or something like that but rather feel some buyers will be influenced to some extent by the reviews & I don’t want to see Mazda get punished for courageously producing a rotary powered car.

BTW,

The spams are taking place on MSN's consumer car review board...I'm not sure if that's the same as the board you're referring to.

People that buy their cars on the advice of MSN Autos deserve the crappiest car money can buy :p

That said... true car buyers will go and test drive a car and see if it's right for them, in addition to the major magazine reviews that a car is given and as well.. where the RX-8 has shined.

Hey Guys....It's not just the RX-8. Somebody or some people HATE MAZDA (or is simply a jackass, nix that - IS a jackass). Look at any other Mazda vehicle there.. say the MPV Van, it's the same story. It may be they do it to other brands too, haven't checked.

Sad state of affairs. I wrote MSN an got a nice reply, guy said just tell me the ID# of the review and he would take it off immediately. I wrote back that he had his work cut out for him, 'cause it was more than half of the reviews on the site, at least!!

In fact, it reminds me of some of the stock market boards on Yahoo, some issue at $.25 and guys are yelling and screaming about management and each other, and they are buying and selling... like 100 shares???!! at a time. They just spend all day filling up the posts and have nothing but vulgar, asinine comments.

Go figure. It's the world we live in.

Since there hasn't been a single harsh critism levelled against the RX-8 by any other media source, you'd have to be living in a vacuum to believe this!

Not sure how anyone can level a claim of "unreliable" at this point. Exactly how many 8's have been towed back to the shop thus far? Just shoots the reviewers credibility in the foot.
