[QUOTE=trhoads]All right guys, iI have been on IM with huff04titanium, and we have decided that those of us that play golf, need to go play golf. Is there anyone else that plays, that would be interested? I know lsujim plays, but how about anyone else?
We need to decide on:
when & where.
Those interested add your name:
-trhoads
-huff04titanium
-whto5rx8
I'm in........How about Woodmont? Where in Gwinnette?
L8APEX 09-13-2005, 05:12 PM Hey Chris,
I thought you might be interested. Good to see you are.
I guess we need to look at green fees and location.
Woodmont looks pretty nice, I have not played there. After 12 the GF is $69. It si located on Highway 20, west of 400.
I am playing Trpphy Club of Atlanta on Friday, I think it is $49, but that is the weekeday rate. It is off Windward at 400.
SilverEIGHT 09-13-2005, 08:03 PM Awesome, I've not played in 3 years but would love to hit a 3 iron off the tee. Count me in. Don't worry, I'll pick up instead of beating the hell out of the trees. :D
- trhoads
- huff04titanium
- whto5rx8
- SilverEIGHT
RedLineShinka 09-14-2005, 07:29 AM Hell yea, I suck big time and haven't hit a golf ball yet this year.... but I'm in. I have a coupon book with a TON of 2 for 1's at clubs located in or near the Canton area...
Count me in - one request though... Saturday morning please? I can't really go any other day, unless it's later in the day on Sunday... but that's tough to schedule with Church in the AM.
Thanks - hope we get out there...
huff04titanium 09-14-2005, 07:34 AM Sounds like we have 5, I would like to see us have two foursomes if at all possible. I can play wherever, my course would probably be a haul for you guys, all the way out 78 to snellville, about 20 miles due east of Atlanta. Saturday mornings work for me, just not next week. I was thinking two weeks to give some people some planning time.....
SilverEIGHT 09-14-2005, 08:32 AM Snellville sounds great to me! But we must plan around the Petit Le Mans! :D
EDIT:
As in, not to interfere with the Petit.
guy321 09-14-2005, 08:33 AM Im in Tampa but i'd be interested.. when?
huff04titanium 09-14-2005, 09:49 AM Yes I think we need to shoot for the weekend after the race. Would be the weekend of October 8th. Let me know what you guys think.
JD
Phlash 09-14-2005, 10:02 AM I can't play golf worth a damn, BUT I can drive one hell of a mean beer cart!....
SilverEIGHT 09-14-2005, 01:09 PM I'm open for OCT 8.
huff04titanium 09-14-2005, 02:21 PM Might need to put a set of stiff springs and sways on that beer cart with all the extra beer you'll be carrying for us....
EDIT: 69th post, ha ha.....sorry
SilverEIGHT 09-14-2005, 04:13 PM Maybe RB exhaust so we can hear him coming! :D
L8APEX 09-15-2005, 07:27 AM Saturday morning on the 8th is good for me. We would need to play early, I am going to the Thrashers game that night.
huff04titanium 09-15-2005, 08:53 AM throads - do you mind editing the first post to add the other names here and put the date? Thanks.
JD
Saturday morning......sound good!
L8APEX 09-15-2005, 09:59 AM Updated, see post #1.
L8APEX 09-19-2005, 10:10 AM Hey guys, does anyone have a preference on what course to play? We are a couple weeks out still, but it would be a good idea to go ahead and get all of this finalized. Woodmont looked good to me, I have not played there. I have only played a couple of courses around here.
Suggestions?
SilverEIGHT 09-19-2005, 10:25 AM huff04titanium mentioned Snellville, how does that sound?
L8APEX 09-19-2005, 10:31 AM -my place is just really busy on saturdays and sundays
-and we just punched
-and they are doing work to one 9, re-doing a green, so there is a temporary one
-and some other stuff going on
this is what he said the problem at his course is right now, we have been on IM trying to figure this out. I am going to look at a couple courses, and see what kind of rates we can get.
huff04titanium 09-19-2005, 10:56 AM Would be perfect, but the course is going through some changes right now, so we have a temporary green and some moved tee boxes. Really wouldn't get the full benefit of my course, but we can go back there later after the renditions are done. It will be a really great course after these changes. Throads and I are combining our vast course knowledge, aka LMTT.com, to come up with a good place to go. We'll give you guys some options to choose from soon.

SilverEIGHT 09-19-2005, 12:04 PM I used to play this course all the time, Apple Mountain (http://www.applemountaingolfga.com/default.asp). It's a wide open course and is a bit forgiving. The kind I need! :D It's around Clarkesville so we would be headed up to the foothills just above Gainesville. May be out of the way for some of you but a fun course. It was never crowded.
I like Lake Lanier for water and Chateau Elan for a little primier type golf.
When the decision is made and we are on the number one flipping the tee to see who goes first... it will not matter! Golf is Golf unless it's hard clay and sparse dead grass.
L8APEX 09-21-2005, 07:52 AM For those interested in playing, what woudl you consider a reasonable green fee. Most course around the Atlanta area are going to be $50 or more. I really wnated to figure out where we are going to play, so that we can go ahead and book a couple tee times.
SilverEIGHT 09-21-2005, 08:20 AM I like $35... but I will take what ever we decide! :D
I have a suggestion! There is a GREAT place in South GA called Little Ocmulgee State Park, Wallace Adams Colf Course (http://gastateparks.org/info/liocmulgee/), one of my favorite courses. It's a sleeper, never busy and has cottages right on the course. It's cheep ($34 including cart) and only a 2.5 hour drive from Atlanta. We could drive down on Friday evening after work spend the night, wake up right on the course and play one or two rounds if we like. I believe they even have package deals. If this is of interest, I will look into it in more detail. Let me know if you would like to discuss further.
PS:
For you guys that are headed down to Savannah, you will be passing by the exit off of I-16 that goes to this state park. It is the McRae/Little Ocmulgee exit after Dublin.
PSS:
Package price does not include group speeding tickets?
L8APEX 09-21-2005, 08:41 AM That would be good, but I have to be at Phillips Arena the night of the 8th for the Thrashers Home Opener. So something around here would be best. I am told the Tropyh Club course in Dacula is nice too. But again, it is about $60. Which by the time you count gas to anywhere far away with lower green fees, you have spent mor than that in gas to get there.
SilverEIGHT 09-21-2005, 09:04 AM Works for me! I'm easy.
L8APEX 09-21-2005, 09:05 AM Works for me! I'm easy.
post whore  :D
L8APEX 09-21-2005, 09:30 AM OK, update.
I think it has been narrowed down to:
Hampton Golf Village. $56 includes cart fee.
or:
Gold Creek in Dawsonville. $62 includes cart fee.
We need to get some feedback, so you guys that are intersted, chime in...please.
valpac 09-21-2005, 09:52 AM You may need another beer cart pilot. I HAVE skidpad experience in golf carts, too.

are you going to join us as a spectator? you are welcome to. The more 8's in the lot the better right.
valpac 09-21-2005, 10:22 AM are you going to join us as a spectator? you are welcome to. The more 8's in the lot the better right.
As long as my car is nowhere near any stray golf shots. I went golfing with my brother and my car was parked dangerously close to the course. I was worried as I saw golf balls careening out of control through the lot. They make real big hail dings.
L8APEX 09-21-2005, 10:24 AM i am sure we can arrange it. since the rest of us are just as paranoid. we won't park near the driving range.
SilverEIGHT 09-21-2005, 04:58 PM Between those two... I vote Dawsonville.
SilverEIGHT 09-21-2005, 05:10 PM OH CRAP!
I just discovered a conflict! I've got to get that calendar set up on the GA RX8Club site.
I'm shooting the BMW Club at Road Atlanta that weekend!
CRAP... CRAP... CRAP!
kickedout 09-21-2005, 05:58 PM They're just Bimmers, buffy. Blow them off.

BTW, this is me for now. Long boring story about why I got banned. Its a campfire story for Roebling.
SilverEIGHT 09-21-2005, 06:28 PM  What am I missing?
L8APEX 09-22-2005, 06:18 AM BTW, this is me for now. Long boring story about why I got banned. Its a campfire story for Roebling.
i wondered, when i saw the SN. I thought I was getting close, when confronting the mod. But I guess they can only get rid of one a day.
silver, I am sorry you will not be there. The group is getting smaller
kickedout 09-22-2005, 09:32 AM buncha pussies.
L8APEX 09-22-2005, 09:34 AM i can only assume you are not talking about us :D
L8APEX 09-22-2005, 10:45 AM so who is still in for playing since silver is out?
-trhoads
-huff04titanium
-redlineshinka
-wht05rx8
-valpac and phlash(possible gallery/beer cart drivers)
kickedout 09-22-2005, 10:51 AM nope
SilverEIGHT 09-22-2005, 11:32 AM Well, it looks like an even foursum with a beer pace cart! I was really wanting to do this. Can we plan another one at a different date? Maybe make it up to Apple Mountain and after the game we can continue on up for a mountain drive since we would already be in that direction? I can see us having the "GA RX-8 Club Annual Golf Ball Flogging Event"! Yea, that sounds like a winner. No experiance required. Food for thought.
L8APEX 09-22-2005, 11:45 AM the next one i might have to be the beer cart driver. I am having knee surgery on October 31. So, I will not be on the course probably the rest of the year.
SilverEIGHT 09-22-2005, 12:06 PM OUCH! Clutch or gas knee? Sounds like you may be one of those that wishes he had a telescoping steering column so you could stretch you legs a little.
L8APEX 09-22-2005, 12:12 PM right knee, reconstruction, so i wont be driving for probably 6 weeks. my poor car will feel neglected.
L8APEX 09-26-2005, 11:54 AM All right, if no one has any objection, on October 1st, I am going to call Hampton Golf Village, and scheduel a tee time for 9 a.m. for 4. Val, they said you can pay the cart fee of $16 to just ride a cart and not play. So if Phlash comes down too, that would obviously cut in half.
Sorry that it has to be so early, I need to be done and back home by 4:30 so that I can get to the Thrashers Home Opener that night. :D
huff04titanium 09-26-2005, 06:52 PM Well you know that sounds good to me, any early risers up for breakfast before hitting the course? I will have a drive, so I will be up early anyway. Travis, I'm sure you'd be up for breakfast (depending on your friday night)......

:D
I was thinking those of us that wanted to, could meet up at our usual Mickey D's around 7:45. That would give us a chance to eat, then get to the course, and for those of us that need to...(me), hit a few range balls. Otherwise it will get ugly!
huff04titanium 09-26-2005, 08:38 PM Well you know me, probably can't sleep the night before so may as well just stay up until Saturday morning and eat and hit balls before sun comes up?
L8APEX 09-29-2005, 08:20 AM I will be calling on Saturday morning to book our tee time at Hampton, for 9:00 a.m., or close to that. Right now, I knwo of 4 people playing:
-huff04titanium
-wht05rx8
-redlineshinka
-me
and val might still come hang out
if anyone else wants to play, let me know, if someone is not going to make it, let me know.
valpac 09-29-2005, 08:40 AM ...if someone is not going to make it, let me know.Out. Gonna be watching those NASCARS go round and round at Tally this weekend.
BTW, doesnt this conflict with Petit Le Mans?
L8APEX 09-29-2005, 08:45 AM nope, the golf trip is next weekend, i just have to make the tee time this weekend.
valpac 09-29-2005, 10:40 AM ok, had I READ the first page....
L8APEX 09-29-2005, 10:44 AM ok, had I READ the first page....
usually helps, ban him for not reading the thread before posting! :D
valpac 09-29-2005, 10:54 AM it's coming, I'm sure.
U R BANNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..........pls turn in the decoder ring via PM, AND, all copies of emails/PM from RG, at once!!
L8APEX 10-01-2005, 09:37 PM All right guys, we have a tee time. For the four that were already listed as going. Val, they konw that you are planning on joining us, and only the cart fee will have to be paid for you.
The tee time is for 9:00 a.m., on Saturday October 8th. Lets all meet for some breakfast around 7:45, I am not sure where, we can discuss that this week. After we all meet up then we will head on to Hampton Golf Village. It is before we get to our usual meeting place at GA 400 and Hwy 53. If anyone has any ideas about where to meet, post up. I know wht05 and I are close, and I know where everyone else is coming from.
More later, time to sleep, Petit kicked my ass today. :D
L8APEX 10-07-2005, 06:31 AM I will call the course today and find out what their policy is on that. But right now there is only a 20% chance of rain tomorrow. This system is supposed to move out today, and tomorrow will be cloudy, but not supposed to rain a lot.
SilverEIGHT 10-07-2005, 09:51 PM FOUR!!!
You guys have a great time. Sorry I will not be there. I'm back to Road Atlanta for two days with the BMW club.
Remember... 2 putt! :D
