Fronts: harder/softer?
Rears: harder/softer?

I like the idea of the adjustable sways, but those holes on the rear end look kinda sketchy - worried about tearout.

Are the holes on the non-adjustable whiteline halfway between the holes on the adjustable version?

If half you guys have them on the stiffer setting, and half on the softer setting, then maybe I'll just get the non-adjustables.

We run our adjustables on full-stiff front and rear. It feels quite good that way. Haven't been to the track yet with them, and that same car just got a turbo, so we haven't really played with the settings. We'll be putting another set of adjustables on our more 'tame' RX-8, and will report back on settings in October after he's had a chance to mess with them.

On the front bar, the mounting hole on the fixed-position bar does evenly split the difference.

On the rear, the fixed position bar is about 87% stiffer than OEM. The adjustable on the softer setting is about 79% stiffer than OEM and the stiffer is about 91%.

The price difference is about $60 for the pair. I like the adjustables because they allow you to fine-tune the balance of the car to go along with other suspension mods if need be. Or just to suit your personal preference/driving style. Or just run them both full-stiff and basically eliminate body roll. That said, more have bought the fixed-position bars, and thus far all seem quite happy with them.

I would not worry about 'tear-out'. The holes are indeed fairly close to the edge on the rear bar, but the bar ends are quite thick. That, and Whiteline has been making swaybars for over 30 years, and thus far their products have proven durable. And Whiteline customer service is quite good, so if for some reason you did have a problem you can be sure that they would take care of you. And of course if you buy the bars from us, we'll take care of you too .

 

"Flat-Out" stiff both ends...works great on the street and track. You'll certainly rip the bushing bracket off the chassis before you'd rip through the thick steel of the swaybar end

I like the adjustable as the non-adj (as mentioned) splits the dif of stiffness possibilities, and I wanted to be able to get the maximum effect possible with these bars. Happy :D

 

I've got the non-adjustable Whiteline sways and absolutely love 'em, especially paired with my coilovers. One point however....if you get the Whiteline sways, make sure to check that they haven't shifted slightly after a few hundred km's or so after install. Get the additional clamps to keep 'em in place.

 

Just an FYI from what Genesis said, ALL Whiteline swaybars for the RX-8 sold by DPE do come with the 'lateral lock kit', or clamps to keep the bar in place laterally. There is no additional charge.
