Hey.

I found this picture today, taken on a trip we did earlier in the year to the south of France and the Nürburgring in Germany (which I'm taking my RX-8 to in a few weeks).

Now, I'm sure there isn't a jet engine under the bonnet of that thing... I'm assuming it's just a different kind of engine? Jet engine fuel is just Kerosene or something similar, isn't it?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

It's a diesel. They run perfectly well on Avtur (Jet fuel).

Probably just a joke.

Av gas is used at the drag strip some times for the higher octane, added power.

No joke. It's an airport agency car. They'll have access to loads of waste jet fuel.

Doubt it was a joke - this was in France, and the car Aéroport d'Avignon on the side - it's an 'official' car for the nearby airport.

Edit: Beaten to it!

So will the car/engine have been modified at all do you think, or just a bog-standard diesel?

It will run perfectly well bog standard.
