dazygirl415 09-04-2005, 01:32 PM Looks good!! I like how the vents compliment the grills and the wheels. And it's nice to see someone do different things with their car. Me likey!! :D
nijelSC 09-04-2005, 01:37 PM That was my idea-eliminate the black and add some silver. Looks better IMO.
cleoent 09-04-2005, 01:42 PM interior looks great, like that shift knob!
Raptor2k 09-04-2005, 01:54 PM Beautiful. If I ever start modding my VR, I'll come back to these pics.
\\Konig\\ 09-04-2005, 02:01 PM very nice
which exhaust is that?
nijelSC 09-04-2005, 02:32 PM Bought the shift knob from Autozone for $20. Was to long so I cut about an inch from the bottom, drilled a deep hole almost to the top and threaded it. Brushed it, put a RX-8 logo and some clear coat. Turns out great.
That's the RB exhaust. The tips are melting the paint but I'll put some high temp silver coat. Already got a good coat of ceramic heat shield on the bumper around the tips.
BTW I installed and painted the body kit myself. Cost me $300 for the paint. I was quoted $3000 for sides molding . The paint matches very well. Who said VR is hard to match ;) . That was my first time doing body work.
mikeb 09-04-2005, 02:46 PM your car is awesome
I love how you used the veilside gt skirts with the v1 one kit
I love that v1 kit but others have had problems with the exhaust melting the paint
whats next
rims? lowering?
nijelSC 09-04-2005, 03:28 PM I like V1 front and rear but not the skirts. D1-GT looks better. This combo makes the car look not so aggressive.
Tein H-Tech are coming in tuesday. Now making some rotary emblems to replace the OEM flying mazda ones. Will post some pics when get at least one ready.
Haven't decided for rims yet.
xrider01 09-04-2005, 10:09 PM looks very nice :). the red on silver is very impressive. The only other place to add more silver would be on the mirrors
Cudgel 09-04-2005, 10:22 PM Very nice! Is that a Valentine 1 radar I see nicely integrated into the radio? :D

Thinking about it. Haven't decided VR or silver yet. Also thinking about silver door handles. Will they look good?

Yes, it is. With blue glowing LEDs matching the instrument cluster.
Moostafa29 09-04-2005, 10:50 PM Looks pretty good. Nice to finally see someone with the other Veilside style kit.
colin204 09-04-2005, 10:54 PM how did you do the front grill?
nijelSC 09-04-2005, 11:35 PM how did you do the front grill?
Got THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7989409206) and cut it, put some clear coat and edged it with a weatherstrip and black silicone for better look.

the mirrors i think will look good, the door handles....eh, not so good.
KYLiquid 09-06-2005, 03:05 PM who painted the body kit? was it done with factory matched VR paint and then a 2 step clear? Looks like it was done with gloss red spray paint.
Any picks of close up on the body kit, like the front lip?

I painted it. The paint is a PPG brand from paintscrach.com and it is matched by VIN. I haven't polished the clear yet. It has a flex added and that's why looks a little different. I painted the eyelids and the strakes with the same paint and after a good polishing with 2000 sandpaper and rubbing compound they are perfect. So no worries about that.
