Sorry... daily rant until my car gets here... THAT I ORDERED OVER 6 MONTHS AGO!!!
Looks like most of the posts are now from people with their cars. This is just plain STUPID MAZDA!!! What was the point of preordering? Here I sit looking at friggin' pictures of all the people that now have their cars, while mine sits at the port going on the 4th week now. And all the local dealers have RX-8 dealer stock sitting on the lots that no one ordered! Me and Eccles could have personally driven all the preordered Austin cars one by one from the Midlothian port by now. So WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM MAZDA! Get off you're f*&#!^g asses!
They told me preordering would let me be sure I'd be one of the first to get my car. What a line of BS that was!

Amen! Rant on, Brother - at least you got to drive one - my preorder (Jan 8th) is also through Mazda South and I haven't even had the pleasure of driving one yet, as I live in Houston.
BS indeed!

I say everybody who is still waiting send hourly emails and phone calls until Mazda gets off their buts and does something. Here is the latest line of bull they fed me:
Dear Colin,
In response to your e-mail, VIN ************* currently shows an ETA of the fourth week in July. It will be released from port as soon as Mazda has conducted thorough inspections. Please understand we want the cars to be delivered in the best possible condition. Please keep in mind that I cannot advise which way a dealership ordered vehicles, or
which allocation they may have placed your vehicle in. I do, however, completely understand that you are very excited to receive your RX-8. Rest assured that they are well worth the wait. I've driven one several times now, and it's an awesome ride!
Please feel welcome to check with me personally for any updates in the next couple weeks.
If you would, take a quick moment to give us your opinion about our e-mail service. The survey is only five questions, and your feedback is important! Just click this link:

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda. It has been my pleasure to assist you. If for any reason this response has not completely
satisfied you, please feel free to reply to this message. You may also contact our Customer Assistance Center toll-free at 1-800-222-5500.

I am very disappointed that dealerships throughout the US have gotten some of their dealer allocated units that were not preorders before the diehard Mazda rotary fans that preordered cars in January. What is taking so long getting these cars to the dealerships when they have been sitting at the ports for weeks? If you refer to www.rx8forum.com <http://www.rx8forum.com/> there are a lot of people getting upset over this. Could somebody from Mazda let the dealers know what is going on and when can we expect our cars to get shipped out of port. Your help and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I called Mazda's 800 number on Friday, and was told that their system showed my VIN as being on a truck en route to Austin. Their system showed it arriving next Monday, 7/21. We'll see.

one thing is for sure Mazda needs some serious help in the Customer Service/Public Relations. I hope they will look back on this new product roll out and kick some butts out the front door.

This pre-order program S_CKS !!
I pointlessly pre-ordered 1/8 , confirmed with dealer 3 days later and where exactly is my car ? Somewhere between Japan and the dealer ! I even got the " time to arrange delivery" e-mail on 7/11 and where was the car then ? You guessed it somewhere between Japan and the dealer ! It is starting to be comical how INEPT the whole program is , my anticipated delivery date has been moved EIGHT times !!! Yes EIGHT times . Why did I pre-order when any nissan reject could walk in to a dealer and drive home in our car ?
btw my dealer has a Rx-8 , drove it , LOVED it
HERE IS MY MONEY !!
WHERE IS MY CAR ??

Man, you said it. We have royally gotten the shaft by Mazda. I can't believe they're treating their 'consumer sales force' this way. We know more about these cars than almost every friggin' salesman on the lot. WE are an extension of their sales force, because WE talk about the rotary and Mazda's innovation every chance we get.
So, thanks, Mazda... thanks a lot for showing how much you care.
