So I was doing a bunch of phoning around last week to see if any RX-8s in the first shipments weren't spoken for. On the Prairies, I found two as of Wednesday, July 16. I haven't spoken to either dealer since, so I can't say what might have happened in the last 3 days, but on Wednesday these two cars were available to the first buyers to put down a deposit:

The Mazda dealer in Steinbach, Manitoba has a Silver GT. IIRC, it has the moonroof - definitely no NAV.

The Mazda dealer in Brandon, Manitoba has a Black GT, with roof and WITH NAV.

Both those cars were in transit, so might be at the dealer lots by today. If anyone from Manitoba or further afield is looking to get a car NOW and not wait for an indefinite period in the future for when a car might be made available to them :mad: , then it might be worth a call! (I used the dealer locator at www.mazda.ca to get the phone numbers).

I just got a call from the dealer in Brandon - their Black GT just arrived this morning (slow truck?), and it does NOT have the NAV. If anyone is looking for a Black GT with moonroof on the prairies, here's your chance right now!

When did you buy it, just recently? It wasn't sitting on the lot for 6 months, was it?!! :eek: What are the last 5 digits of your VIN - if it's the July car, they should be around the neighborhood of 02000...

Dealer in Winnipeg has a returned Silver one in the showroom, has front and rear accents, spoiler, window tint, and I think mudguards.
