Help fellas! This is the first time that I've cared enough about my vehicle to want to only use the best... I've used Meguires on my past cars but I want to switch over to Zaino now. Does their Total Protection Show Car Kit (link (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ZKIT-1&Category_Code=Zaino) ) have everything that I'll need? What other products should I get? I'm going to get the leather and glass polish as well...

Also, I've only had my car for 3 days now and the rims are FILTHY!! Any tips or tricks to keeping them clean? What good rim products are our there?

don't worry, there's not a whole lot you can do about filthy rims for a while...atleast while the brakes are still settling in. i cleaned mine and took a 1.8 mile drive and they were dusty, enough so that a finger would leave a stripe =p

also will need bucket, cotton terry cloth for waxing or a orbital buffer

a 3" brush and a 1" brush for interior dust
big wheel and tire brush/sponge

1 set of mitten for upper part of the car
1 set for wheels and lower part
another set for interior

don't forget to wax the door jam cuz they tends to get filthy really quick

lint free paper towel / cloth for your glass and head lights

1 bottle of car wash detergent
1 bottle of Dawn

Found this (http://rotarynews.com/view.php?id=181) from an earlier thread. Very educational for me. I couldn't find boar's hair brush in a couple attempts so I settled for a wool mitt which doesn't seem to retain dirt.

get brake pads which don't have such a high carbon content in them... uh, i've got this memory of "GreenStuff" brake pads which are some kind of composite, suppost to be pretty performance oriented, but they don't dust up so bad as your average carbon-metallic pad.

if I remember correctly, that kit uses the zaino clay bar, and zaino car wash. You can save yourself a couple bux by just going to autozone and picking up some meguiars or something car wash, and a claymagic claybar. Most claybars are the same anyways. I just bought the claymagic, and it worked wonders on my car. The zaino bar simply cannot be better, and the claymagic bar cost 7 bux less. The car wash you buy isn't that important really either. Most good car washes just sort of serve to lubricate grime and debris so it can flow off of your car without scratching it. Anything more than that, and you're getting rid of wax, which you don't want to do. You made the right choice with zaino though. I was a megiuars man up until about a week ago when I zaino'ed for the first time. I will NEVER go back. a week later, and my paint still feels, as well as looks, like a mirror. It was never garaged either, it was outside in the element. I'll have to post some side-by side pix sometime. Zaino is incredible.

When I get my 8 should I start with dawn or car wash detergent? I am assuming it will be unwaxed so should I use car wash detergent?

In all likelihood, they will have waxed it at the dealership. You'll definitely need to start with the Dawn wash.

since "how clean" was the car when they wax it prior to delivery to my hand is an unknown.

i rather start fresh

and since i'll clay bar mine, Dawn is a good soapy medium also

Tell the dealer NOT to wax the car when it arrives. Might save some time....
