I currently have the origional k&n typhoon kit and i want to upgrade it to either the revi, or the new k&n kit. Which ever one i decide, i will probably be getting the rb ram air duct as well. I have been reading a lot about both of the intakes on this website and i still can not decide whitch one is better. Another problem is i do not have my stock intake anymore so i would need a screen for the k&n one and the rubber hose part if i got the revi, so i dont no where i would be able to get that from. any suggestions on what i should do and what will get the most power would be helpful.

You could probably get the parts from Paul at Mazmart in the vendor section, or just order them from a dealer.
I would go REVi with the cool air duct.

The REvi does not require a rubber hose, but it does require a screen.

i think you have it the other way around. im pretty sure the k&n needs the screen and the revi needs the rubber hose part. unless the revi needs a screen and hose. can someone clear this up for me?

I intalled the REVi a awhile back and this is off the top of my head what I remember you needing(I'm probably missing a few screws or washers that are reused also though):
-2 rubber gromets from the original stock air box (if you want to reuse the engine cover)
-1 intake screen
-MAF sensor
-stock acordion intake tube
-2 more rubber gromets for the bottom if I remember correctly.
The rubber hose to the VFAD assembly is NOT reused.

so i guess if i go with the revi i am going to need to buy the stock acordion intake tube and one intake screen in order to install it because i no longer have my stock intake. i pmed mazmart and they are able to get these parts for me. i only have the origional typhoon which i believe does not use either of these two parts. i was an idiot and threw out the stock intake after installing the typhoon last year.

this is my first post woot!!!
i just bought the k&n we'll see how it works out, i think it's gonna look awesome. i have no commute so ive put almost 2000 miles of backroads on it here in the napa area , probably only about 200 freeway miles at the most.so i feel that the investing all that money in the revi and air-duct would just be over kill unless your on the freeway alot.. I'm also taking my car into the dealer tomorrow to have the recall done on it, fix my centerconsole button, flash if needed and check that a/c flash i had read about here.

i just bought the new k&n for my 8. I think that its at great investment. I got it from Vividracing.com for $280. You can definitely feel and hear the difference. But it seems like alot of people are going for the Revi. But i'm really happy with my k&n so i'm going to stick with it

just installed the new k&n, it's gorgeous and loud exactly how i wanted it, i had a wrx previously with the injen intake you mainly just hard the sucking sound of air, with the k&N on my 8 it'S WAHHHHHHHHHH in a nice deep note, you also here a few mechanical clicks from the engine that are accentuated by the intake, my butt dyno definately felt a good pick up too, we'll see how it handles tonite on my nightly cruise on highway 128. overall i think it's an excellent product, gives my car that super car sound
