What is the difference between the chrome wheels that you would get from Mazda, or Japanparts vs. the chrome plated wheels that you would get from someone like Chrometech? I would be afraid that chrome plated wheels would peel or crack or something. Are the factory dark chrome wheels a higher quality than chrome plated? Does that justify the higher price? Does anyone have any experience with factory dark chrome vs. chrome plated? I would like to get chrome, but don't know which avenue to take. If this has already been discussed, then please forgive.

Anything you get directly from a dealership is going to be expensive. Rosenthal Mazda is doing a good job of lowering prices, but the stuff is just high to begin with. It doesn't necessarily mean it is better coming from the nanufacturer. And as far as I know, most of the wheels that come stock on a car usually aren't made by the car company. They are actually contracted out to a wheel company, but then they just put the Mazda name on them.

get this straight... the dark chromes sold by Mazda is plated the same way as the chrometech ones. They don't come out of the casting process already chromed.

OIC....well instead of paying the grossely inflated prices that the dealer would charge, I can go to Chrometech and save some $$ and get the same thing. Thanks ya'll. I just think chrome wheels would look bad A$$ on Winning Blue.
