XDEEDUBBX 08-22-2005, 01:54 AM maybe rhys..thanks for the video...wonder what turbo kit he has? Raptor 08-22-2005, 02:18 AM is that some kind of scoop on the hood? Noguni 08-22-2005, 02:18 AM Oh yeah my cousin that recorded that clip said that the first time he took it around the track he couldn't kick it side ways. I guess he had to get the feel for it before he could break it loose. BigOLundh 08-22-2005, 03:01 AM Oh yeah my cousin that recorded that clip said that the first time he took it around the track he couldn't kick it side ways. I guess he had to get the feel for it before he could break it loose. He may have been running with the dsc/tcs on ok just saw the clip. if he is doing a drift event... he would def have taken taht off. Xyntax 08-22-2005, 03:38 AM Must be another 13B-REW swap. I wonder what hood that is... mikeb 08-22-2005, 05:00 AM cool video lazi 08-22-2005, 05:18 AM nice video A Spec Products 08-24-2005, 03:20 PM Must be another 13B-REW swap. I wonder what hood that is... Yes, FD motor into RX8. The hood is actually a modfied stock hood. kmg1186 08-24-2005, 03:24 PM The BOV has a shaky sound to it at the very end of the video. I was under the impression that the normal BOV sound is a steady release. Zoli007 08-24-2005, 04:31 PM The BOV has a shaky sound to it at the very end of the video. I was under the impression that the normal BOV sound is a steady release. Compressor surge will usually do that. Maybe the Bov was too tight, or there isnt one. Im_DANomite 08-24-2005, 05:00 PM with a turbo that big, he's definately gonna have compressor surge. i like the flutter shawn81 08-24-2005, 09:16 PM sick sick  sick clippppp i loved it thankx man ,,, is it really a swap ? WoW soooo much work.. but nice .. Glyphon 08-24-2005, 10:29 PM maybe rhys..thanks for the video...wonder what turbo kit he has? rhys drives the gto. his dad rod has the fd powered rx8. kmg1186 08-25-2005, 01:49 AM with a turbo that big, he's definately gonna have compressor surge. i like the flutter Oh don't get me wrong. I love the way that sounds, it gives me chills! haha. I just wasn't accustomed to hearing that... and wow he is an excellent driver to be able to hold those high speed slides so controlled. Wish I was in the car for the ride! :D Wolverine 08-25-2005, 11:34 AM Here's Rhys Millen on the set of the movie "The Dukes of Hazzard".....Yee-haa!!!.... http://www.incantis.com/generallee.mpg gh0st 08-25-2005, 03:10 PM seams like he is having trouble getting angle. i dont think the rx8 will ever be big in drifting events. thats just my opinion though. denward slllygrl10 08-25-2005, 11:38 PM Looks good to me. Razz1 08-25-2005, 11:39 PM Yep, the 8 handles too well. gh0st 08-26-2005, 11:52 AM i think the 8 will have a hard time in tandem racing behind a slow car. the 8 was built rotate even at very high speeds without loosing too much grip. without a lot of speed and momentum the 8 has trouble holding high angle drifts for long periods of time. also notice how his car does most of its rotating after the apex. the 8 is probrably the hardest fr car to drift out of all the modern cars without seriouse modification to the rear and steering. denward mauricio 08-26-2005, 05:05 PM very hot looks good to me excellent driver. Saint_Spinner 08-26-2005, 07:25 PM Plus, a stock 8 will have very little torque. From what i understand, most drifting cars have to have the torque. Hence, not too many drifting S2K's either... Someone educate me.... abbid 08-26-2005, 09:53 PM I believe the flutter occurs regardless as long as you close the throttle and dont reopen it. It only makes a steady sound when you are shifting at high RPMS because you only momentarily close the butterfly as you shift, hence just one steady spurt of blow off. Correct me if im wrong, i probably am. StealthFox 08-27-2005, 02:26 PM pretty good considering the rx8's drifting ability, that guy rhys has some serious talent ToguePirate787 08-31-2005, 11:47 PM To me its not even a RX-8, to me its still a RX-7. Im waiting on a RX-8 that is in Formula D or D1 that ACTUALLY runs off the Renesis engine the way it was intended. To me that actually what makes it a RX-8. I guess this will have to do for now.... StealthFox 09-01-2005, 03:02 AM when is this car scheduled to run Formula D/D1GP anyways? it wasnt there last formula D, although it was on show there. and pirate, the chassis is an RX-8, therefore it is an RX-8, not an RX-7. the chassis makes up the charachteristic of a car more than the engine. but i still do agree with you strongly on the dissatisfaction, it does not have a renesis so i do not support it whole heartedly, people need to stop being lazy and swapping rx7 engines into them and just develop the RENESIS, because it has just as much potential of the others, in fact its more durable in many aspects. i know for sure my rx8 will have nothing but a renesis in it because the RENESIS is the essence of the RX-8, a revolutionary engine design change that came with a revolutionary body design styling, there for they should stay mated. the FD on the other hand, well i cant say i care too much about keeping a 13b-REW, eventually a 20b will be there haha. BigOLundh 09-01-2005, 12:22 PM Did anybody else notice this footnote at the bottom of the article in regards to this... "On as side note, Rod blew out the motor at the end of practice on 8/21/05." Maybe they will now thing about going back to the renesis. VelociRedBeast 09-01-2005, 02:05 PM nice driving.
