Wife's birthday tomorrow...

Wait till last minute, then call custom jeweler from work to see if they have any Spurs theme jewelry.

Jeweler says they have a mold for earrings, and he'll email me a picture of what they'll look like.

Can I have them by tomorrow, I say.

Sure, I'll be working late tonight anyway.

Never got the email.

Jeweler closes at 6, I get there at 5:50. Jeweler already gone.

I go to church meeting, then stop by jeweler to see if he went for dinner and came back. Jeweler still gone. No earrings for the birthday.

Head towards home - need to pick up kid from football practice. TPMS light comes on.

Stop at gas station, fill all 4 with air.

Off to school - 2 miles away, and TPMS light comes on again. Oh, shiite.

Pull into gas station - tire is making thwapping sounds.

Call wife - "you'd better come pick up the kids, I have a flat".

Took the wheel off to inspect. Major leak - according to the owner's manual, it went too flat for the sealant to work.

Don't want to leave RX-8 at seedy gas station. Fortunately, an air hose is within reach of my wheel. Put wheel back on, pump it up to 40PSI, and hop in the car and drive to school like a bat outta hell. TPMS light comes on as I'm pulling in the entrance.

Park in a well-lit area, wife drives up and picks me up. Complains of tire noise on her car on the way home.

Change the tire in the garage. Looks like it has some uneven wear on the inside tread.

Take shower, and sit down and gripe to y'all about how crappy my day's been.

Search the archives for new tire recommendations. The tires were practically bald - time for a new set. Guess the car will have to go up on jackstands in the parking lot so I can take the wheels in.

Hope everyone else had a good day :)

I'll join...

I just recently got back on the bike after about 5 months due to back problems. Yesterday I'm grinding up a hill and the rear gets all funky. I though I'd picked up a stick in the derailleur or something. Nope - the dang frame snapped near the rear axle. Arrgggh! Ah, well I'm just glad my back is healing. But I so much wanted to start making more progress.

oh shit.. you want to hear about one of those days!!! :)

it's 5am for me right now. Some virus infected basically every computer connected to our network which is approx 20,000 desktops. Brought down our entire infrastructure from the inside out.. Got a patch from MS which will fix the problem but we can't remotely install this damn thing because our NETWORK IMPLODED !!!!! so i was dealing with the stuff locally and was told at 7pm last night I had to fly out to calgary at 9pm!!!! Calgary is 4 hours away from toronto.

So now i'm in calgary, destroying the bar fridge, i have to be up in 2 hrs to give a presentation to a bunch of blood sucking users tomorrow at 7am.. WTF!!!!!

And to top it all off i couldn't sleep on the plane because some little kid had this massive stuffed animal the size of her. damn thing kept hitting me on the plane the entire time.. sigh..

shit happens :)

ill add...
Server goes down at 9 am. Boss trys to get a 2nd pc to act as our server until we get it fixed. Spends hrs troubleshooting issues why he cant get it to work. I start workin with our server team to get a fresh install because our boot sector on one of the redundant hds is corrupt. Cant get the good one to boot. So hrs later im at an alternate location 4 hours away. Work all through the night and then go to each individual bank to deliver their work. Needless to say I worked a 26 hr shift with no sleep. The sad thing is i wasn't even tired afterwards...ah well as Mr Jinx said " shit happens!"

I'm sorry you all had or are having crappy days. My day yesterday wasn't all that bad, but this project has been kicking my ass for several months now. Today I'm taking a "mental health day". :D

Well, today was a little better. I decided to go for the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S, based on some of what I've read from the guys in the forum. The closest Discount Tire had exactly 1 in stock. I went this morning to the school and pulled the flat, got the tire back this evening and remounted it. I decided to leave the car there for now (see why below). The other three will be in on Friday, so I'll be good to go. I think I'll look around for a used rim, and mount my least-worn as an emergency backup tire.

BTW, would it be bad for the car to drive any great distance with one well-worn P225/45 and one new P245/40 on the rear?

Oh, and one other bad thing happened yesterday that I forgot to mention. The car died on me again in the heat. I thought it was better, but I did a lot of idling in the heat yesterday. I'm starting to get worried that after my warranty runs out, the engine's gonna go, and I'll be SOL.
