Did you get it worked out? It says on the registration form that you do NOT have to be a member of a club, and there is also an option to put "Not A Club Member"

Glad to see you made it here. The new meets are updated on the first post. There are a few track fans on here. I can help with some of the older tracks in the area (Road America, Blackhawk Farms & Grattan) as I used to road race at those. I haven't been to the newer ones (Autobahn & Gingerman). They oppened after I quit racing.
Maybe we will see you next Friday.

I can't do Autobahn yet (only 430 miles to go!!!) but I can say that South track is definitely challenging- it is very braking heavy, so be sure to invest in pads and rotors if you plan on going all out. As far as Blackhawk Farms goes, we should try to get an event there- I love that track (first track I HPDE'd at)

I figured I would start out stock. I just changed the tires to a low grip set for the rear. The car is pretty capable as is.

Anyone else going to MX-5 Summerfest? Adam, want to caravan? I'm at Western and Lawrence.

I saw on edmunds where they say it is actually very hard to drift an RX-8 because it is so well balanced. They had a video about it - they took a stock RX-8 to a drift day and ended up having to get a drifting expert to try it. Not sure if they still have the video or not.

So this is the first meet I am going to be able to make. I will be stopping at the bank today to take out a small loan to fill my tank and then I will see you all @ Portillo's. Who all is going???

I grew-up in Florida and lived there when I joined the forum...about 6 months later I moved to Chicago (in the middle of the winter). I guess I could take the Florida part off my location, but I'll blame that on laziness.

The concert was incredible. Not my typical type of music, but you can't help but get into it. I ended up about 7 feet from the stage and at the end Davie walked out on top of the croud. Awesome.
I did register with RC3 awhile ago, so hopefully Railgun gets that straightened out.

Fortunately, driving stick seems to be something that is learnable by most people. Unlike painting.

did you have a dealer change your brakes or did you go somewhere else? the two dealerships I have gone to won't replace mine under warranty(I am past the 12 month limit) and I don't really want to donate money to Mazda.

my local dealer did it under the "good will" thingy. every time i had been in, i told them about it so it was documented and they all heard it. it was constant...not just a squeak here and there ... every single time there was light to moderate braking.

Cliff's notes: it is a leaked video from MNAO to dealerships informing them that customer satisfaction surveys from RX-8 owners will no longer count toward their scores. What it means to RX-8 owners is that Mazda no longer cares what our opinions are and dealerships will be able to treat us however they'd like with no worries of repercussions from substandard service.

Make yourself an informed consumer....
