Following from my earlier email my dealer had 3 RX8's as part of a special invite only dealer launch tonight from 5pm to 7pm. Champagne, wine, beer and nibblies on Mazda as well as a small bag of gifts.

Two of the cars were the actual drive cars from the Willowbank Driveday (QLD plates "RX8" and Vic plated Auto Silver).

The third car happens to be my car which is locked up with a sold sign on the dash saying "Do not touch". The "pre-delivery" is going to take half a day and should be ready for a test drive by midday tomorrow. We haven't bought ours yet but it's hard walking away from the RX8.

My pre-order is supposed to be one of the first in QLD if not Australia. Hoping to take delivery tomorrow afternoon if test-drive is satisfactory.

I'm planning to take the car to Mt. Cootha for for a whirl and my dealer confirms that there is no "run-in period".

Will know by midday tomorrow if i'll be owning one or not.

Yes we were there, thought there would be more people there, very impressed with the vehicle my husband is so bloody infatuated with, actually quite impressed !! Thought the staff very all very attentive and very well informed. Enjoy your test drive and look forward to seeing you on the road !!
