I had my birthday dinner with the folks last night. We went out to a new restaurant, Amuse-Bouche, here in Toronto. I would highly recommend it. Great food and service. You pay for it, but it's nice once and a while. Anyways, I wanted to get an idea of some of the better restaurants around so when I, or any of us, travel, we know where the good eats are :)

Some other good restaurants in Toronto
The Strand Restaurant and Brasserie (sp?) - steakhouse
Miller Tavern - seafood
Brant House - mixed.

Great reference for travelers, as well as for finding those little hole-in-the-wall places with great food right in your own city.

Also check out "The Keg" downtown, i think it's off adelaide/simcoe. Amazing party on Thursday.

Brant House is good to on Thursday's.

The best meal we ever had (and by far the most expensive) was at the French Laundry, in California wine country (Yountville).

Our favorite restaurant when we lived near New York City was Da Pietro's, in Westport, CT.

Tio Pepe in Baltimore was always fun to go to.
