Here is the scene as my RX-8 arrived at the dealers in Huntsville Alabama this evening.

Very cool! The blue is gorgeous. What dealer is that?

Now onto the discussion I had with the driver, who has been delivering the RX-8's into Alabama from the Jacksonville port.

He said no RX-8's with the ground effects have been able to leave via truck, as there is a problem with enough clearance in getting them on & off the truck.

He said the trucking companies were working with Mazda to develop some type of bolsters that should give those RX-8's enough clearance to be trucked. The earliest he said they would start leaving was possibly next Monday, depending on how successful they were in coming up with a solution to the problem.

I asked him if the non-ground effect cars had any problem with clearance, and he said they cannot with certainty place any on the bottom section next to the cab, or the bottom middle section. He did say it depended on the brand of portable parking lots if they could be placed there or not.

I officially take possession Thursday morning.

Soon come is just hours away !!! At least I know it is here:D

They has 3 pre-orders, but mine is the only one to arrive thus far. They have no clue when to expect the others.

I have the appearence package.....
My car was "released" on 11 July and i still don't have it.

So, this afternoon I called MNAO to complain. They promptly told me that it is now showing "at port" again and no longer released!!!

I'll bet they're holding it because they can't get it on the damn truck!!!:mad:

I'm glad I cancelled all my port options though.. I wasn't getting the appearnace package anyways.

I love the blue more everytime I see it -- I think it might have been my color of choice if I had seen all of the colors before ordering! Looking forward to seeing one on the road.

Good job getting down there in time to take the 'newborn' pics. Did the dealer call you to say it was pulling in? You must be pretty closeby to the dealer to get there fast enough! I sure hope I'm there when they roll my blue baby off the truck! Whenever that will be...

My dealer called me right after the driver called him, telling him he was 30 minutes away. I was very impressed with receiving the call. Because of the pre-delivery letter I supplied, I think that helped them in wanting to satisfy their customer fully.

I just got back from picking it up, as the pic shows. 4000 rpm is easily attained...... the hard part is keeping it below that for the next 800 miles. The car had 4 miles on it when taken off the truck.

The blue is beautiful! And you have great weather for a change to get in some break in miles.

Same here I'm betting. Arrived at port over a month ago and has been released to the shipper for more than a week.

Yeah, I talked with my dealer and he has 10 cars that show they have been at the dealership for over a week now. All have the ground effects package. That really sucks. Oh well, I've waited this long, I can wait another week I guess. Better that then scratched up effects! I'll be doing that myself!!:D :D

the real problem is this is holding up other cars that do not have the appearance package, that maybe only got the cd changer.... like mine! so get those cars out of the way all-ready and deliver mine!! :D

Well, my car is currently on the boat sailing this way. They better get the trucking problem fixed soon before mine arrives at port.

Zoom.. I don't really understand how this would be holding up yours.
