View Full Version : Ruff Racing Wheel Quality?
kromix 07-27-2005, 02:22 PM Ok I went into a local shop here in Miami, and they had quite a few of these "new" wheels (they told me Ruff Racing was a brand new label but reaaalllly good), they look and feel really nice, does anyone have any experience with these wheels or know the quality? As far as my eye can see they look pretty good and I found a pair I want to try on my Rx-8......
Its a staggered setup with such a Deep Dish in the back its sooo nice...

SHOWOFF 07-27-2005, 02:24 PM That wheel looks REALLY nice. Is it true 2 piece or are those rivets fake. Either way they will look great on an 8.
kromix 07-27-2005, 02:26 PM I haven't found much info on the net about them I have no idea how they are made which is why I posted here so we can find out the quality... but yea they look really nice and on my Titanium Grey with those dark wheels... ouuuwee sexy... just gotta get some reviews here if anyone has even heard of Ruff Racing :)
SHOWOFF 07-27-2005, 02:30 PM Just going off of price alone through Google, they come in anywhere from $175 to $225 per wheel which puts them in price range with Motegi/Einke/Konig Etc. If they are similar in quality you'll be getting an above average wheel for a low price.
kromix 07-27-2005, 02:35 PM Nice good find... Hopefully someone has purchased these or this brand and has some input, if a couple people like it, I am SOLD! :P Anyone? ;)
jaguargod 07-27-2005, 03:02 PM I've seen them on eBay. If they have that deep lip, are they more likely to accept the TPMS?
kromix 07-28-2005, 04:48 AM Bump for any info on the quality of the rims :)
Ole Spiff 07-28-2005, 12:55 PM If they're $175-225 per wheel then they're one-piece.
eclps0 07-28-2005, 01:45 PM how heavy are they becuase i would bye them if they are light
MrWigggles 07-28-2005, 02:38 PM I hope that finish lasts. It looks like a finish that might discolor over time.
FYI, RUF wheels are very expensive and are (or were) designed for Porsches. RUFF is not the same company.
With all that said, they look nice and if they aren't too heavy should work well.

ElusiveFX 07-28-2005, 10:51 PM Those are not the same as RUF as seen on alot of porsches...
RUFF is a company that came out a few years, most of their wheels are rip offs of Jline, they are not lightweight and they are not forged or multipiece... They look alright, but to be honest with you i wouldn't run the same size lip all the way around, just looks kinda odd.
kromix 07-29-2005, 12:11 AM no i am not i am getting a staggered setup, big lip in the back, i just want to know if they are good or not, coming from someone who has owned a set.....
hamsta 07-29-2005, 04:12 AM I was also checking this rims out on ebay. If you can find out the weight comparing it to a typical weight of a 19", it should be a good deal if your main concern is the look on these.
kromix 07-29-2005, 04:42 AM yea, still no responses though, no1 here have any real life experiences with Ruff wheels??
RX4life 07-29-2005, 07:07 AM they look like the TSw volcanos i got.. kinda.. i ordered my staggered set for 1350$ CAD.. 19x8 and 19x9.5 ..only difference i see is the rivets which adds a nice look... id buy them if they were in the volcano price rance..
chrism 07-29-2005, 07:15 AM i owned a set of ruff wheels and had them for about a year.....they are a few years old and they were always one of those call for pricing wheels.....the ones i had were pretty strong and i have driven new york city streets with them on and a tein drop kit in my last car.....i didnt have the same ones here is a pic of the ones i had on my previous car

read what i said ...R-E-A-D...
minus the rivets etc..
kromix 08-01-2005, 01:14 PM Yea even minus the rivets, only thing similar is that they are wheels, I mean they don't even have the same amount of spokes, thickness of spokes, nothing??? what am I missing?
