Does anyone know of what other if any , mazda spare wheels and tires will work on the rx-8?....thanks

I would think that any rim/tire combo would be fine for a spare as long as it's consistent with what the other 3 wheels area (but I'm also not an expert). If you're asking what other Mazda models (i.e. 6, 3...) have rims/wheels that are compatible as a spare for the 8, then I don't know. :)

Any FWD mazda wheels 17" or bigger that is a 5 lug, will fit and work fine for a spare. The 16"s off of the protege 5s (5 lug of course) will fit on the 8s with the smaller front brakes but i dont think they will go over the 320mm front brakes.

i have put the wheels/tires off my friends Mazdaspeed Protege (17") on my RX8 they clear the bigger brakes fine and dont look too bad. (if that helps). I think the spare tire kit is great, since I usualy 'delete' the spare tire anyhow and just use AAA plus, unlimited free towing.

KYRX8 , are you a member on LexingtonStreets or Louisville streets? Im not an active poster on them anymore (since I movied to FL) but I do read up from time to time.

EDIT : When i said 'spare tire kit' above I mean the bottle of fix-a-flat and the compressor that comes with the car, not the optional spare tire you can get that mounts under the deck lid.

Just so you are aware the AAA plus member ship allows for free towing up to 100 miles. But you only get 4 towes per year (I know because I've used those 4 towes this year - also why I sold my car '97 mirage). They even send you a letter a month or so after your last tow to tell you they will still come out to help you, but your towes will now incur charges. If there is a better membership level, above plus please let me know.
