View Full Version : Just found out new insurance costs
DisneyDestroyer 07-16-2003, 12:01 PM OK, 1998 Prelude -> 2004 RX-8. Same exact coverage.
Increase in insurance: $1.00
Wow, I guess those extra two doors really come in handy.
Magnesium 07-16-2003, 12:07 PM What is cost / 6 months?
I just got a quote from my insurance agent. It wasn't in his systems so he had to go off the msrp.
He told me $547 / 6 mo. Seems kinda high to me.
RotorBoy 07-16-2003, 12:12 PM I had a 2000 Prelude and the premium decreased about $50 every six months. Of course I turn 25 in just over a month so that will come in handy soon.

Yeah, and the 1.3 liters makes it seem totally lame too.
I just wonder how long this honeymoon will last though.
(My guy said it'll be about the same as my '99 Infiniti G20T.)
TreknMazda 07-16-2003, 01:37 PM State Farm lists the RX-8 as a 4-door coupe. My rate is 440/6 months in Northern Virginia/DC suburb. This is a high rate area. $500 collision deductible, 50/100/50 liability. The car is listed as pleasure, not daily driver. I'm keeping the RX-7 for the rush hours idiots. :eek:
P00Man 07-16-2003, 02:07 PM thats good news, the insurance seems really low, unless its just me use to hearing about my brothers $3000/policy

$2100/year which is actually the same as the WRX. And I get a 10% discount for being a SAE member.
PoLaK 07-16-2003, 04:56 PM Yah i live in new jersey so if i were to file as a primary driver i would pay 3500, but my parents were nice enough to put the car under their insurance and add me as a partial driver, so it comes 2500. That for a 16 going on 17 year old in NJ is chump change.
mazdaboy 07-16-2003, 09:27 PM i pay like 220 every month. that is with a wreckless though:mad: and that is for a 90 nissan 240.
tribal azn2 07-16-2003, 09:33 PM i just got my insurence today. only 400$ for 6 monthes, $800 for a year!!!!!!!!! thats pretty damn good. i was paying around 2100 for my bmw. state farm
