Seems to me there are certain breeds that appeal to RX-8 owners more than the public at large. Vote for your pooch!

Those dogs are beautiful.

I have an Akita, and some sort of German Shepard/Lab Mix. :D But, I'm really wanting to get an Irish Wolfhound (the tallest dog breed):

Being a general fan of the various Spitz, I went from a Chow (Kong, RIP) to my current terror, a Pomeranian.

9-year-old Bassett Hound named Roscoe. Had too many choices of names between Fred, Flash, or Roscoe. Fred was the bassett from Smokey and the Bandit, Flash was Roscoe P. Coaltrain's basset from Dukes of Hazzard, and obviously Roscoe is the one that stuck. Gotta love those shows from the 80's!

Same as Cue2, Westie. Had our first for more than 15 years and our second for the past two years. The Westie is the smartest dog breed that I've ever owned as well.

Sorry, Jerky.... I just sorta assumed that people who don't have dogs wouldn't feel the need to answer this poll.

So... what kind of dog DID you have?

I had a Kerry Blue Terrier named Spencer (my mother was a Kerry breeder) for many years, but he had to be put down due to liver disease in Dec/03.

Early this year I bought a super-hyper Welsh Terrier pup named Owen. He is a true Terrier (or more correctly, Terror...). He just a little over 1 year old now.

I have a Brittany spaniel that can run 29 mph and a Schnazer(<sp) that loves food and resting. I got them both from local humane societies. I used to have a cocker spaniel that died about 2 years ago, still really hurts to think about him. I object to a Chihuahua being counted as a dog ;) :D . Im just kidding, so yall that own those rats...errr dogs dont get mad.

Golden Retrievers are the best dogs! Just ask my friend Dallas here.

Goldens are beautiful, smart, eager to please and always ready to run and play. Just like my RX-8! :)

We have a Puli - a Hungarian herding dog.

Dino (named after the Ferrari ;) ) is 8 years old, and people still mistake him for a pup because he's got so much energy. Pulik (plural) are those dogs with the natural black dreadlocks - with a full corded coat, a Puli looks like a mop! The coat is wool, not fur, so they're pretty much hypo-allergenic (I'm allergic to most dogs and all cats). We keep Dino's coat trimmed to about 3", so he's just curly, rather than wearing the corded dreads.

Here's some info about the Puli breed, with a picture of the full show coat: http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory/breeds/1100217/

Here's a picture of a show Puli, and a picture of Dino (after rolling in the grass...):

I love those corded breeds! One of my alltime favorite dog pictures is this one of a jumping Komondor (another Hungarian corded herder). Joan Ludwig, the photographer, was a very well-known dog show photographer back when I first started showing, and I have several show shots of my own Samoyeds and Shibas done by her. Beck (the musician) liked that Komondor photo so much he put it on the cover of his "Odelay" album.

I had a spoiled (read: fat) Shetland Sheepdog for about 5 years. I had to give her up in October of last year because she was suffering from arthritis which was sourced from a leg injury when I adopted her. I love Shelties, and I hope to buy her back after I graduate. :)

It's a Yellow Lab with severe allergies and about 22 lbs overweight (name is Lady but I call her piggly wiggly)

My avatar is her BTW. She fits right in the back seat (with lots of fur to shed) of my RX-8.

Although, I have to bring the shop vac out after I have her in it. TG for leather.

Tanner: AWWWWWWWWWWWW! :)

I had Pomeranians, very cute sweet dogs. But my ex has them now. Recently I picked up a corgi/shepherd mix at the pound. He's very happy. :)

The dog as my icon is actually a co-worker's corgi named Shatner. he's a crackup!
