I've been coming to these boards for about the past few couple of weeks so i'm practically a newbie (what a yucky word lol). Anyways, my name is leo and i have a few things to say...first off, you ppl around here have really been instrumental in my decision to own an rx-8. Like many of you, i was considering the g35 and a few other cars crossed my mind as well. I'll admit, I wasnt too ecstatic about this car when i read and saw it at local car events. For some reason it didnt have that "Ooooo" factor to it. It finally came down to choosing either the g35 or this one and I'd have to say, you ppl sure know how to sway a guy towards the rx-8 hahah. All good. All i can say is thanks!!!

After reviewing everything there is about this car and reading your analysis, esp those that have received their cars, I must say that I cannot wait to own one of these cars.

You know how it is when you like a chic and you cant help but innocently pass by her multiple times just to get a glance of her? Well, thats how it is with the 8. I couldnt resist going to my local dealership and passing by to see if they had the cars in yet and when they did get them (7/15), i had to pass by at least 5 times. I couldnt get a closer look cuz they were being prepared and cleaned. But oh boy, just seeing them made me really want to get one on the spot. the only regret is that i didnt come to my senses sooner and pre-order one of these things but good things come to those who wait. Im told that they will have them available to test drive and such tomorrow (7/16). I'm still waiting for our family salesperson to call me up and tell me to come over to test drive. the color and the options available on the day i go will determine whether i get one that day or not. Hopefully, i will be enjoying the joy that all you owners are basking in now :D

But just to reiterate, THANKS to all of you for all of your analysis - it helped me out alot in more ways than you know.

Better late than never Midnight! At least you have chosen the right path and joined the rotary side. The wait's tough though ehh? If those poor souls who ordered at the beginning of this year and even last year can wait though, then we can!

Welcome to the board and the world of rotary engines. Never go back you may. My boss, a Sr.VP at my company, drove up yesterday AM in his new blue G35. And also yesterday my new issue of Autoweek arrived with their Autofile report on the car.

I know a few folks out there have considered the G35 or may still be considering it. Here's my take: to get the options I have on my touring RX-8, the G35 will be about $35,000. My RX-8: $29,940.
The G35 weighs 3435 lbs - RX-8 about 3050. The EPA combined MPG is 22.67, AW overall testing 18.92 MPG. I don't think the RX-8 will be much if any worse than that. The G35 0-60 time is 5.78 and 1/4 14.43/98.1. I believe the 8 can beat those numbers.

Then there's this: "The most frequent owner complaints centered around the interior center console, which some found cheap and plastick..." I hope the RX-8 does not get those same reviews. People seem to prefer rotory controls over buttons, which the RX-8 has compared to the buttons on the G35.

Anyway, you wouldn't go gravely wrong with the G35 - but I think the RX-8 is a better car for a lower price. Plus 4 doors which may keep insurance costs lower. My .02c+.

Sounds like you went through the same process as I. That goes for 99.9% of the rest too, I'm sure.
Welcome to the Hotel RX8afornia.

I know I saw that free intake system before - don't know where from anymore. There was also the same offer from an Atlanta shop.

Anyway - good choice!:D
