Still Waiting

I've read the older sticky on how Mazda has incorporated 2 fuel maps since the old L ecu flash update. One leaner map profile for gears 1 thru 3 and a richer profile for gears 4 thru 6.
My question is are these 2 map profiles during close loop, open loop, or both loops (which then would make that 4 maps!?).
Now up until today's latest flash "R" is there still a dual/multiple fuel mapping going on? I'm assuming the fuel curve has been tweaked along the way for performance and fuel economy issues, esp. since there is less flooding complaints.
The reason I ask is that when you go to tune the Renesis, say there is 2 open loop fuel map profiles (if somebody can confirm this) I would assume that you would have to pull double the dyno pulls to tune for gears 1-3 and also for your standard regular 5th gear (closest to 1:1 ratio) pull. Is this correct?
I'm not worried so much about the dual closed loop proflies as the purpose of that mode is for the car to tune itself for complete optimization. On a side question does ecu tuning alter these close loop parameters as well if you specifically specifiy to run leaner? Basically bypassing and substituting factory reference values for your own. If so that would make tuning for 2 more additional maps as well.
I'm trying to get an idea and correct answers of what it would take to properly tune the Renesis, especially under Forced Induction.
