I opened it up a bit, there is room for 16 players, I will turn on auto-draft towards the end of pre-season.

scoring is straight up normal yahoo league rules with a couple of variations,

All can change, but I am trying to keep it as standard as possible.

Hope to see you there

Ahhhh man, if I new about this before I would have joined. Sorry guys...I'm already in a league with my brother and I've seen that two teams are too much for me to work with. Next year I'll join (but FYI, the NFL version of fantasy football seems much better and it's FREE).

I've played yahoo fantasy for 3 years and won a championship with two 2nd place finishes so I'll try to join you all next year.

How are you doing the draft? Will it be a live draft or auto pick?

8 is enough
08-07-2005, 01:32 PM
The league is set up to be a max of 16 teams, The draft is auto pick, I was thinking of doing the draft at the end of the month to give us enough time to add teams. It also gives us a week before the game to do trades and what not.

loco4rx8
08-07-2005, 02:34 PM
OK, I can't do it this year. I'll be away from any computers the end of Aug/beginning of Sept. So, it's best if I stay out, I think.

It was fun last year, though. I think 16 teams is approaching too many. Very challenging! :D

VelociRedBeast

davesaunders300
08-08-2005, 07:39 AM
I think we should wait until about a week before the first regular season game. This will give us time to get more teams and still allow time for roster adjustments between draft day and the first game.

Gambit
08-08-2005, 07:50 AM
Well if we get all 16 teams filled we may as well do the draft...I think there's only 10 so far

theclaytaurus

AUTODRAFT is weak.

With even 8 teams, autodraft takes all the skill out of it.

it's not hard to organize at all. you pick a time, and those who can't show up get autodrafted.

I do it every year in my other yahoo league. Lemme know if you're going to be firm on auto-pick, cuz i'll pull out.

^the magic of the internet

ive done it before, its pretty easy- once you make your team, navigate in the menus and pre rank your players......
you can rank whoever, wherever you want. Then during the draft, if you can't make it 'live' the computer picks based on your pre ranked players lists-eliminating those players already chosed of course.....

if you can make it live though, of course you can do it yourself...
it takes no more than an hour, and all can do at once, just using the magical internet.:)

Problem, the live draft dates are only M-F, and the Times are 8-5. And we can not do it On Monday Sept 5th. So do you want to work this? Some one throw out a time suggestion.

I know I seem them too, but when i try to find a time for us that is not 8 to 5 i can not get it. In fact the number of slots keeps dropping. I will keep looking. I want this to make.

Rotarian_SC
08-11-2005, 02:09 PM
I don't want to draft right now. I'd rather wait three more weeks. A lot of injuries or other news can happen during the preseason in three weeks, and I would rather not have one of us draft someone only to have them become injured before the season starts.

theclaytaurus
08-11-2005, 06:57 PM
The later the draft, the better. Having the draft right now is almost a guarantee someone gets screwed on their first round pick. Wait until pre-season has done it's damage. It's the best way.

davesaunders300
08-13-2005, 12:08 PM
I don't see where we would accomplish anything by drafting early. The regular season still won't start until 9/8 and 8/29 gives us plenty of time for roster changes, etc. Waiting until then also gives us time to see who gets injured, how players coming back from injuries are doing, what rookies are likely to get playing time, etc.

Feras
08-30-2005, 01:07 PM
yup...its all individual stats, there are thrown TDs and received TDs. The caveat of playing a player you're qb is throwing to is the problem that if you're qb doesnt get any touchdowns, neither is your WR and thats two players not producing for ya.

Yes, let me tell you about one game where I was screwed last year in this league. I think it was a Monday night game with the Ravens. I was winning by a handy margin, and it was in the final seconds. The Raven's opponents were down by like 5 and driving. For the last play of the game they threw an interception in the endzone to Ed Reed, who then ran the ball back for a touchdown. Last year we had defensive players as well as defenses, and my opponent had both Ed Reed and the Baltimore defense, so he got double credit for it and I lost by like 1 point or something.

Gambit

Bring it on!!!
1. Culpepper's got a lot to throw to, and then he can run it :)
2. Smith broke his collarbone or something last year, he's fine now
3. D's will be distracted by moss, so porter will be open (and the other good rec.'s were already gone)
4. McCareins ...uhh...the other good oens were gone, besides, I think travis taylor will come on pretty strong
5. Westbrook scores a lot and catches a lotta passes
6. Cadillac looks good, and I got Mike Anderson as a backup
7. BUBBA was the 8th highest scoring TE last year (evne though I hate the pack)
8. Watched the game last night....you're right, harrington sucks, but I wasn't gonna take the remaining TE's
9. I take kickers from teams I think can't finish the job in the red zone...i've been unimpressed with the J-E-T-S
10. Eagles getting shot up? No. just, no.

NOW

Chad Pennington - speaking of hypochondriac babies...., Owens will be good if he stops whining long enough to catch a pass, Holt is still on an overstocked offense with two good runners and another good reciever, jimmy smith is so old he may as well retire, kevan barlow is just bad, I had him last year, never even heard of Hoover, but at best he's a third stringer, a tight end from CLEVELAND...they can't even pass to the receivers!, you got the #2 TE from Dallas, Vanderjagt's gonna be kickin a lotta xp's, .......and MINNESOTA'S defense -- could turn out ok, but at the moment they're jsut average

Yeah, i'm scared of the red rotors

Rotarian_SC

09-22-2005, 01:21 PM
It's still early but so far it looks like a well balanced league. I don't see anyone with a team that looks like it's going to run away from the pack.

In reference to some teams having players on their starting rosters in a bye week. some teams seem to play better without a full deck. Also some teams don't have a back-up a every position and don't want to risk losing someone to waivers that they might need later. There are also several managers who haven't touched their teams since July or early August.
