Hey all
I was just called by a friend of mine that was upset I was selling the Rx8.Was funny as I was outside cleaning my other car looking at my rx8 garaged in the background. At 1st I couldnt believe it but curiosity got the best of me and I dropped everything to run inside and check it out.
and this is what I got
Ebay link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4562793807)

Now I really wouldnt be that worried, but as those are my pixs and my home, friend, etc in them Im worried that someone either is surfing thru the rx8club.com and is trying scam someone.
ebay is being reported and hopefully something could be done.
only reason why I dont let it go is because the friend that called me
-ONE EVILRX8-told me that the person will most likely accept a down payment and run.hence the last sentence in the description after pickup arranged car can be seen.LOL
well hopefully nobody here or passing thru is one of the bidders so far.,btw I have 14k miles(garaged like title says)
p.s red interior not black jerky

I just sent him a bunch of questions about the car..and since I am in his area, if he would take payment in full as soon as bidding closed by bank check. I also asked him to verify that the photos were the car being offered. I will let you know if he responds.

Looks like he's on here, because the auction was suddenly "ended early." Dumbass.

If anyone finds out who this was let us know so we can ban them, at the very least.

Was that your VIN number too?

That's a good reason NOT to post your VIN number on here, if nothing else.

Im sure ebay will have that listing down soon.

Here are the reponses.

First off..my questions about weather he would take payment in full when we transfered the car:

"Item: Mazda : RX-8 (4562793807)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
audiooutbreak is the seller.

That is possible, but I must complete paying off my bank loan before I can transfer title. I have to be sure about the form of payment I am receiving and have the funds available before I can do that."

This is in response to my question about were it was purchased, were it was servaced, and if the photos were of the car offered for sale:

"In New Jersey, and I always had it serviced at Mazda Dealerships. And yes."

NOw...we know that these are not the photos of his car...it is fraud. and since it crossed state lines, it is a federal crime. If you want to nail him..there is ammo.

A public servace provided by KLEGGSPEED.

Well at least the auction has been closed, I found it interesting the the supposed seller had such a positive rating. Makes me wonder if someone spoofed that ebayers account and was trying to make a false sale under someone elses good name?

BTW Kel, I like the chrome rims. :)

This would have been something good to have the guys on http://thescambaiter.com deal with :). They have pulled scams on the people trying to scam them where it actually ends up costing the scammer money to do business with them (thinking they really will scam them) :D Too bad he ended the auction, but good thing he wasn't able to scam anyone.

This person probably stole or even bought this Ebay account. On a couple different tech forums I've seen people offer to buy Ebay accounts in good standing.

He has also used the names; mvpaudio and pj782

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I appreciate the chance to help you with your
questions.

The recent items listed with this account were the result of an
unauthorized account takeover. We were not aware of this activity until
some time after the listings appeared on the site. Once we became aware
of this activity and that an item on the site was misrepresented,
immediate action was taken. We are now in the process of restoring the
account to its true owner. At this time the transaction in question
should be considered null and void.

Let me suggest a few ways this could have occurred.

If the user had a relatively simple password or password hint question
it is possible that a third party was able to gain access to the account
by guessing the password.

It is also possible that the user could have unknowingly provided his or
her password to another party. Some eBay members have reported receiving
messages asking for User IDs and passwords. These messages appear to
come from eBay Support, but in fact are not. eBay will never ask for
sensitive information of this nature through email.

Finally, there are a number of computer viruses in circulation that log
and record keystrokes. It's recommended that computer users keep their
virus alert software up-to-date, and check their system often for
problems. A firewall for high-speed Internet users is also highly
recommended.

Please be aware that eBay urges caution when purchasing high-priced
items, especially if the price seems too good to be true.

We do not recommend the use of instant cash wire transfer services such
as Western Union and MoneyGram, and we ask that users decline sending
payment in cases where these are the only methods of payment offered by
the seller. Generally, if payment is sent using an instant cash wire
transfer service and the item is not delivered as promised, no recourse
is available for recovering funds. In most cases, a verified escrow
service should be used when purchasing high dollar value items. More
information on the benefits and risks of individual payment methods can
be found at:

No problem.

That EBay response looks kinda canned and 'CYA lawyer-approved' to me.

For some reason, 'rockstar6474' looked really familiar to me, but it could have been that I saw him ID'd as a scammer on another car site.

I'm not sure how tangled up you want to get in this, but it might be worth your trouble to get ahold of the authorities in Boston and find out if your car was one of the ones their perp was hawking... we'd all like to see this turd go down.

I saw a user online (at rx8club.com) by the name of audiooutbreak the day I was reading this thread about the auction. I searched for him the next day and found out he was gone. So, he was here at some point. Wonder if the mods can see accounts that were started and deleted. Obviously he got the pics from this forum, which sucks.

As far as I know, you can't delete your account on here- one of the admin would have had to do so, but they usually tell us when they do.
