I just got home and kinda hear jet engines in the distance. I think to myself damn that's a low flying plane, quickly it gets louder and louder and directly over the top of me go 4 Blue Angel jets. Very cool stuff and damn they're loud and fast, can't even put it in perspective til you've seen it in person

Saw them at an air show a few years ago. Really is hard to discribe unless you see it.

Earlier this week there were 13 -- yes I said 13 -- F-18's parked just outside of my building!! They were from Louisiana and came here for refuge from the hurricane. They were just arriving so the heat from all of the engines permeated the air around us. I swear I sat for at least 15 minutes, drooling in awe. I was 50 feet away, TOPS. You'd think I'd be used to the jets but I'm like a kid in a candy store every time I seem them. Maybe that's why I love my job so much. :D

the blue angels are incredible. i saw them at an airshow last year. no photoshopping done except cropping, levels adjustment, and adding a border.

I live near Ellington AFB, so we see (and hear) cool jets every day.

Of course the Blue Angel aerobatics are another level of cool.

Being a Navy town, San Diego has always had a huge airshow every year and the Blue Angels are always on hand to do their aerobatics. Absolutely awesome stuff. I've seen it many, many times, and never cease to marvel at their finesse.

I used to watch F-14s and F-16s do "canyon runs" through the mountains back home, when I was a kid. Very cool sight.

We see the Blue Angels here in Seattle every summer. The power and precision are still amazing no matter how many times you see them.

There's a great story about how the Blue Angels and the USAF Thunderbirds were sitting around talking about which team is best. The T-birds scoffed at the Blues' claim they maintain a 36" separation throughout their manoevers. So the Blues tied 36" strings from the wingtip of one to the wingtip of the next plane. They then took off and did their show. When they came back, not only were the strings still intact, they had knots in them. :)
