We've all been waiting months for our 8's to finally show, plenty of time to think of something fun to do to break it in. So what are your plans?

I'm planning on driving South out of St Louis a couple hours to a State Park called Johnson Shut-ins. There are great twisty 2 lane roads down there, plenty of good scenery, and little traffic. The park is a really neat place where a river has carved through old volcanic rock, creating a very unique vista -

We'll go there and swim for a bit, then drive to the Elephant Rocks State Park nearby. Another park with volcanic rock, this time they formed into HUGE round boulders that are now above ground. Stay there a bit and have a picnic, then drive back.

That should be a full day trip, and will put probably about 200 - 250 miles on the car, and scrub off quite a bit of rubber in the twisties :cool:

Then maybe on a weekend night go cruise downtown STL by the dance clubs on Washington street and watch everybody go nuts.

A week long vacation down 101 thru Oregon into California and back. stopping at points of interest in between checking out the Redwoods ect. just me and the missus and some B&B's.

If it comes in this week as it should, we are traveling to Panama Cith Beach for vacation next week.

About a 300 mile trip each way.

Should be a hoot with all those teenagers that cruise the strip.

gonna go up the grapevine out of los angeles to buttonwillow and head out to the coast and ride that back into town...perhaps multiple times if necessary =p

I'll be looking for fresh RX-8 meat in my FD then, lol!

Ryan what's your delivery status? Getting it from Bommarito Mazda?

It's not for me, it's my girlfriend. Winning Blue with everything ... she got it from Lou Fusz. I'm sure I'll get to drive it because the top goes down on my M3, and she'll want to trade from time to time.

Well, we have gotten our RX-8, and our plans are to take a week off, cruise from Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Ohio to visit friends, see the Reds, see the Indians, catch the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, maybe check out Cedar Point and King's Island and then return home. Think we can cram all that into a week?

And by the way rxeightr, you are right about Panama City Beach. There are tons of teens cruisin Beachfront Road nightly. You might be able to catch some good entertainment at either Spinnakers or Club La Vela. If you want a tamer crowd, come over our way to Destin, Okaloosa Island, and Fort Walton Beach. Our beaches are cleaner and less of the younger crowd.

I'm heading to Laguna Seca to take my baby to it's Meca. You can't beat a twisty drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. Then off to Vegas Baby for a friends wedding.

I love to drive. As demonstarted by the 296k miles on my Acura and +300k miles on my CRXsi when I parted with it. Every mile my own!

Going to 1)make a trip to NC for some bbq, and 2)drive around the moutains until we have to come home.

The little lady and myself will be going on a road trip to Key West.

I'm going to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway for a few hours. Stop to feed a few ducks, eat fried chicken and buy some mountain honey. And I hope to do it this weekend!

At the rate things are going, I think it'll be parked in the garage while we go on vacation for 2 weeks :(

Sounds like a great trip. I'm originally from Pennsylvania. Spent many summers traveling to Sandusky to enjoy Cedar Point. IMO, if you are a coaster fan, that's the best amusement park in America.

i'll be headed the opposite direction of ryan from STL...up to chi-town for my uncle's birthday celebration on the 1st (that should end up being 2 WEEKS after i take delivery...dammit! :mad: ) ;) round trip is about 670 miles not counting running around town up there.

ryan, i live on washington ave. let me know when u want to make all the people on the ave drool. :cool: (i think i met u before...u know my co-worker fisa right? your girl works on wash. ave...?)
