I am a headwaiter at intercontental cuisine, which was Italian before it was sold. I was making 500 a week guaranteed but the boss cut my hours and took me off a weekend (where I make all my money) so now I am down to making less than 250 a week, which is not to good for the expenses I have right now. So low and behold I went on monster and applied all over the place and got offered a really nice job at a promotions company that sells door to door. I hated it and turned it down so on my way home I receive a call from the German bar I applied for with an open position as a bartender, which they will train me and show me the ropes. So I will be making allot more money with less hassle. The best thing is its right on the beach in ft Lauderdale.


P.s if u live in South fl in the ft Lauderdale area come down to the bar and try our Paul liner it’s a German beer that is imported. U can’t buy it anywhere there is only 1 other bar that sells it in Miami. Its so good better than any crap us Americans brew...

True, when i post i like to here what people have to say about that topic.

They cut my hours because teh guy that bought teh restaurant has lost over 50,000 in teh past 2 months so tehy got peopel to fill in for me that are way underpayed. They said it themselves they pay me to much. I would get payed 72.00 per day no matter if get no customers or if we get 20. Most of the time i would have one table a night and sometimes none at all.

To sum it up they lowered my hours to save money when they prommised me form teh getgo of how many hours i will work.

My old roomate took a job like this once and my girlfriend got tons of job offers like this when she was on Monster because she was looking for a marketing position.

They claimed its a postion in advertising and marketing which sounds really important and like a good job when in fact its just a fancy way of saying you'll be going door to door selling Dominoes and Blockbuster coupons.

You don't get paid an hourly rate you work off commision. You also have to buy the coupon books from your employer before you go out to sell them. Then you have to kick up a percentage of the sale to him. Nobody wants to buy the coupons off of you because they suck, why would I pay you $25 for a 100 "rent one get one free" Blockbuster coupons which expire next month? Basically you can only make money if you recruit other people to work under you and buy your coupons. Just like a pyramid scheme the money flows upwards to the top. I really don't know how these businesses are legal but they are all over the country.

My old roomate fell for a lot of things like this. He would go out for 10 hours a day all over the state walking around different neihborhoods trying to sell coupons. In 2 months I think he sold 2 of them. They would go out during business hours (9-5) so its no wonder they never sold anything nobody is home. But selling coupons really isn't the point of this job, the point is to recruit more people into it to buy coupons off of you that they can try to go out and sell without success.

Trust me run away from any job offer like this.

you could do what this dude @ my brothers work did. He works with a bunch of women at a clothing store with one other guy. Well they fired the one other guy and he decided to leave a present for my bro..

This dude decided to go to the washroom, however instead of using the toilet, he must have sat beside the toilet and the stall, well let's just say it was quite the pile of shit and since my bro worked with all women. . . . . yeaaa, i've never seen him that pissed off, and he gets pissed easily :) heheheh

I suggest ,as much as you hate too don't burn the bridge on your way out. word of mouth travels fast and you would never get a good reference if you left in the blaze of glory.

I know this sounds ridiculous/old fashioned, but when people are really jerks to me I let them go on and ruin their lives and don't try to teach them any lessons.

In other words, your boss (or now ex boss) is probably a miserable jerk who will always be unhappy, and if you just walk away, he'll still have to live with the problems he creates for himself. That's good revenge if you ask me.

Remember, if you feel like punching someone's lights out, chances are that someone else down the road will actually do it...and then you can go one living without a police record.
