I couldn't justify spending $1500 on the Nav. I'll head out sometime and buy a nice mobile unit for 1/3 the price and one that you can update over the net with ez.

I have an aftermarket navigation that cost a fraction of the price. The maps are great! Best part is that it uses my palm pilot as the screen and came with a mount for the car. Oh and it uses a sexy brit girl's voice.

If i could turn back time....

i would only change the nav. no nav would be way better... and yea that nav was somthing stupid like 3000.

yesterday my parents picked up a unit for when they travel to europe, the maps are way better and you can get updates really easily. If your interested i can get the name/model for you

Mine was installed. When I baulked at the cost that was factored into the price, the salesman got a mechanic to explain that removing it would not be worth the hassle and the dash would have to be replaced. Whether all true or not, I don't know. Anyway, I like it a lot, but wish Mazda had an upgraded DVD.
One other thing.. travelling to Northern Ontario as I do twice a year(okay, not a 'frequent flier') the map quits just above North Bay.

My Palm Nav unit was about $600 including the palm itself. I think you can buy the GPS unit separately for about 350 or so.

i used my Navi up in Montreal and down is the states it worked well... the only reason that I got navi is cuz the wife always gets lost and she drives the 8 a lot... and i also added the module to switch the DVD rom to play DVD movies... that's the only good thing about it...
