And my dealer won't replace it. Not sure which road to take this time... it's not like I abuse the shifter or anything, I just shift like normal and it wears out.

I'm debating on getting the 'lit' shifter kit, but I'm afraid it too will wear out :(

Let me know!

Dude, what are you doing to your shift knob? Mine still looks brand new after 36k miles...

I guess that you have more gentle hands than I :)

I bought the MS knob - it's some kind of rubber - I think urethane. It does not have anything on it to wear out :)

mine just got replaced for the second time. The trim on top was loose when they installed it and it progressively worsened

I bought the AT version of the rotary knob, and after a year of use it looks like new. No dulling or anything of the silver accent. And I rest my hand on top of it all the time when driving. Maybe the manual knob just isn't made as well?

Me too. It's seriously ugly, but much nicer to use (the stock knob feels awkward and bulky to me). But the urethane kinda looks worn right out of the box. It doesn't seem to get worse over time, but it doesn't look so hot when new either, lol...

My rotor shaped knob seems stripped as it rotates several degrees each way. I had the dealer look into it when they were clearing/ fixing an airbag light, and they said they "fixed it" by screwing it in several more rotations. I didnt complain, i guess it serves its purpose.

What the hell are you doing to make your shift knob wear out? Maybe you have sweaty palms?
