It's an adaptor that fits between the oil filter and customer can adapt an oil pressure gauge and/or oil temperature gauge from this.

Very good to have true oil temp-pressure etc...Stright from your oil filter side....

Ah! I've got such a sandwich plate from Mocal UK ages ago for £40 (less than 80 USD).
It's fitted with oil temp and pressure sensors on my car since last oil change. I'm working on integrating the VDO gauges now.
