Looks like Mazda is following BMW and Nissan and hiring established filmmakers to create promotional short films. The Japanese Atenza 23Z (click for press release) (http://www.japancorp.net/Article.Asp?Art_ID=5487) special site has a 6 minute (part 1 of 2) movie of the Atenza (Mazda 6 in the US) produced by director Luc Besson. A little weak in the plot but some nice scenery and impressive driving. Dialogue is French with Japanese subs.

I'll post an archive of the 1 Mbit stream if anyone is interested.
Those wheels and ground effects look really nice, imo. Most 6's I've seen in the US are AT base level models which look weak in comparison. Hopefully we'll see more S-level models in the near future (I believe Mazda has already mentioned they under-estimated the demand for MT 3.0 models here). Besides, I think it would undermine Mazda's image as a maker of driver's cars to pursue the Camry/Accord market.

Great find Gamera. Looks like manufacturers are making short films to show consumers what their cars can do.

Please host it, because I keep getting it broken up when trying to view.
Besides, it's cool to have a local copy :)

Thanks for the "rip" again Gamera. Nice server you got there for hosting all these video clips.
The mini movie is alright but it's rather weak in comparison compared to most of the mini movies from BMWFilms. Luc Besson is just getting worse in every movie he makes since "The Professional". :(

Agree... BMW short films are better, but this isn't too bad. Wish this one is longer, more exciting, and english subtitles.
Anyway, after watching the film I really want to get the navigation system, but it's too late...

The second video is now available at:

By the way, how do you convert that file to a hard (e.g. non-streaming) copy? I think I've got the same problem that herc had ...

You need the Streaming Download Project player available at:
http://sdp.ppona.com/
You Open the link and hit Go and it will download the stream and save it into a file.
