Hey Thew!

You mentioned in another thread that an iPod kit from PIE was in the works for the 8. I emailed them, and they denied any plans for it.

Do you have any more info about this?

Also, does the iPod kit use a different PIE module? Or is it the same module with an iPod adapter cable?

I am looking for a good interface with my 8 and don't really feel like blowing the $300 on the Icelink or Neo systems. I realize I can get that now with the regular PIE, interface cable and a Belkin charger cable, but this new iPod kit is so much more streamlined....

Thanks!

they are indead working on a ipod kit for the Rx8 HU.. but its still no were near ready.. infact i just discussed it with them.. I still reccomend the PIE MAZ/PC and the 3.5 to m bus or rca to mbus conneter.. this is your cheapest and best option..

Any idea of an ETA for the ipod kit? End of summer? End of year?

For what it's worth, I called PIE a couple days ago and spoke to a woman that said they were working on an iPod kit for the RX-8 and to check back with them at the end of July. She told me that they were hoping that the interface work that had already been done for their aux adapter would allow them to get the new product done pretty quickly.

Don't know if that's anywhere close to the truth, but that's what she said...

hey Dr. Aesculapius how are you ;) I have the PIE for aux in purposes only and love it...as for IPOD...the denison is dicey we keep reading...since u ahve the 6 speed you are better off getting the aux in and installing a remote for the ipod in the center console near the shifter for easy control

then maybe mount the ipod within view for song titles (as the denison does not display song titles but maybe the PIE one will)
