So first time posting, just picked up the baby last night. 05 GT in titanium. i guess my only question right now is what is the biggest problem that the car has that i have to watch out for or what do i need to do with this car to stop any type of problems that everyone is having.

Well there's:

"Flooding" - which can be avoided by not shutting the engine down cold. (This is covered in the manual).

"Poor mileage" - Luck of the draw on this one. Some cars seem to sip gas faster than others - also depends on driving style.

"Addiction to this site" - I don't think anything can be done about this.

Other than that just keep an eye on the oil level and you're good to go. Anything else that may pop up are minor issues and covered under warranty (cracking buttons, weak battery, CELs, software updates, etc...).

The biggest problem is buying a sunlight silver, which you have avoided! GratZ!

yes for some reason god doesn't like that color. maybe he's more into Winning Blue :p And enjoy your new baby I'm sure she'll be blast for years to come.

If you have a problem, someone else has probably had it. If you have a question, there is a good chance it has been answered- It has become one of my favorite tools- Because everyone here is very helpful, and has a lot of good advice-

most owners (especially one's new to the rotary scene) are having experiences with flooding...a common problem but something that can be easily avoided. when you take your car out, just be sure not to shut it off until the car is properly warmed up.

how do you know when its warm? check the coolant gauge. when its even, then your good.

also, people complain alot about poor gas mileage. this comes with the territory though and its something you have to expect when purchasing any kind of sports car. and if you drive it hard, expect to see 12-13 mpg regularly. personally, i get closer to 20 mpg when driving on the highway and about 16-17 in the city...every once in a while i really like to get on it and then i notice how much more premium is being devoured.

and, every time you stop for gas be sure to check the oil level regardless of what the gauge on the inside of your car says. its probably right, but just in case check the dipstick (which can be a little hard to find) and always have a bottle or two of oil with you in the trunk. rotaries love to drink oil, kind of like honda dirtbikes.

Flooding is the only preventable problem I know of. Never happened to me though, even though I've done the unthinkable (turned it off cold) many times.

Otherwise, your brakes will start squeaking after a few thousand miles, you might break the slider tab off your center console door before you learn to not lean on it, and your emergency brake handle boot will tear during or after the winter.

All warranty fixes though, so don't fret ;)
