Seems like the other ports are showing released from port and the emails are flowing but I haven't seen anything from someone whose car is coming into port of NJ. I know mine has been sitting there since like 6/27 so just wondering if they were just behind the ball on getting the emails out or if they aren't releasing from NJ yet.

i haven't heard anything from mazda. Ours hit the ports later then everyone else so expect a next week delivery.

No truck as of 12:35PM EDST at my dealer in Frederick MD; no email yet saying it's been released from the port.

Just called Mazda USA... my ETA shows TODAY to get into the dealer so... we will see :)

I'm going to call my dealer now and find out what the deal is.

Please forgive me, but my memory tells me you live in the Jersey area - can you be more specific in relation to either the NJ port and Philly or Baltimore? (I'm about 4 hours from the ferry that goes to Manhatten in NJ, wherever that is)

My dealer is located literally 45 minutes away from the port of entry, Jersey City.

Edit: I'm in central Jersey also, and about an hour from Philly and an hour and half from NYC (driving to both).

Browns Mazda Alexandria received 3 of 4 first shipment pre-order RX-8s last night. The fourth one (MINE :( ) should arrive later this week. The reason is that my RX-8 was the only one in this group with accessories. As soon as they are installed (Roatary Accents/Splash Gurads) it will be on its way!! It still shows delivery of July week 2 on the inventory report. :)

My car arrived today. I just happened to drive by my dealer, and look around the lot to see if I saw any. Just as I was leaving, I noticed a silver RX-8 in my rear view mirror turning into the maintenance shop. I drove around to the shop and saw three 8's in there.

I went in to talk to my salesman and he said mine came in today and was going to call me when they finished the PDI. So I will be there at 10am tomorrow to do all the paperwork. ( They were not going to be finished tonight. )

I have not received the delivery e-mail from Mazda.

I've heard there is a shortage of rotary accent packages at port, so they are waiting on a shipment to install before they release some with that option.
If you ordered port accessories, you may be waiting a few more days.

ill be there looking at the cars beacuse my car wont be comming in till july aug.

Heh I live in Lancaster, PA not more then about 4 hours via the slowest route from Jersey city and according to the Mazda people at the 800 number mine is scheduled for 7/17 arrival which is absolute crap. WTF is taking this so long? Mine has no port options, and a VIN under 1000. What are they doing have the truck driver tour the country before coming here or does he have drive in reverse or something?

I am still amazed at the complete lack of information that Mazda is providing (still no promised email about released from port) and the fact that allocation units are showing up prior to pre-orders placed 7+ months ago.

Grrr... not till tomorrow!

I'm getting so mad..

I just came back from my dealer. Two rx-8s came in today(yellow and black). My car will be arriving next week or the end of this week. Damn i was the first person to order the car and since i got the accessories it bumped my car off by a couple of days. The tension is high

as of 8:00AM this morning, no trucks here yet. No email as of 11:25am either.

I just called MazdaUSA, and they said my ETA was yesterday, 07/15. Either my dealer hasn't called me or the truck is delayed. I called the sales manager, but he's out to lunch. Hopefully he'll return my message and tell me my RX-8 is here! I'll keep you guys updated.

Mine was unloaded at 7AM this morning from a truck that had sides covered and the tail covered by a bubble. Another Red was also on the truck. Mine was positioned last, bottom row. the other red was top row, 2nd from back.

I find it strange that my dealer is 35 minutes from the port... and not a thing yet..

Hopefully I get a call today.

My red RX8 came in this afternoon and I drove it home this evening. The Mazda Sales Manager also got his Titanium which included the appearance package.

The car is, without a doubt, the best car I have ever driven. There is no comparison between my old 1981 RX7 and this new car. Handling, road feel, smoothness, and the unbelievable eagerness to rev are huge winners for me.

This is a great car!

hopefully ill get a call tomorow too...(or should i say later today, as its already 12:50 lol)

i dont think there is any order, just put whatever on the trucks and i dont think the dealers know until they get there

Don't be so sure about weekend deliveries. The Browns Alexandria dealer received 3 RX-8s (NOT MINE!) last Sunday night at 11pm. I was talking to them about this and they said if the truck comes in after closing they off load and put the keys in an envelope with time of delivery. Just like joe average dropping a car off for service.;)

The latest 'guess' is my car may show up tonight or tomorrow morning.

Ah, I see.

Well hopefully this will all happen today.. if not then I am going to have a miserable weekend :(

Picked up mine yesterday. 05/27 build date on it.

see my automatic rx-8 had a build date of 5/23/03 in which it came to the dealership yesterday. My manual has a build date of 5/27/03 and has not reached the dealership yet. Hoping for a call.

My email was sent out 7:00AM today, almost exactly 24 hours after the truck rolled on my dealer's lot. I hadn't checked for it until now though as it's not that relevant to arrange delivery after delivery...? anyway - Herc - hope yours is ... there now!

This is getting obscene. In the end I will be very happy to have the car, but I feel very irritated in the fact that it's taken so bloodly long to get. Besides, I was one of the first people IN THE COUNTRY to sign up to get it.. and already dealer allocations cars are showing up before pre-orders.

Sorry to butt in on the NE Forum ;) but I'm right with you there Hercules -- this waiting has made me very disappointed and a little concerned now. My salesman told me that my car was released from the port on the 15th, yet it still hasn't shown up :confused: . Meanwhile, my dealership has received at least 12 other cars (as of Thursday) before mine, and I was the 2nd person to place an order with them back on the first day they took pre-orders! :mad:

wow, this sucks, hopefully monday...
im actually tempted to call, but when i asked them thursday, they said they have no idea whats coming in untill it comes in, but maybe thats just cause i asked a sales guy and not the manager

Who have you been calling at MazdaUSA? All I have been getting is the run around at my dealer and the only thing coming out of their mouth is "it should be before the end of the month". They did receive 1 yellow 8 this past Thursday...that person picked it up same day....haven't seen anyone post from Jersey that has theirs..so he must not be on this forum.

Dealer just called to tell me my Brilliant Black Grand Touring, Black Leather, rotary accented, splashgurarded RX-8 has ARRIVED! :D :D :cool: :D :D

The bad news is I can't leave work early.:mad: My advice for anyone traveling the Dulles Toll Road and outer loop of the Capital Beltway to US1 South between 5pm and 6pm is to steer clear of the black 1985 RX-7. It will be on a mission! Just pull to the side of the road and honk as I fly past. ;)
